'14 JUCO DT Davonte Lambert (Auburn Commit 12/18/13)

He absolutely is a huge piece to us being successful next year. Frosh D-lineman take a while to develop. They just aren't strong enough to come in day one and push 320-pound guards around.

Lambert's S&C is vital.

That is the story that is coming out of Auburn. Auburn feels fairly good about their chances of flipping Lambert but the kid is hard to read and has been telling people varying things during the entire process. I'm sure your coaches felt pretty good about their chances of keeping him going into last night's visit but who knows what they feel now considering that the situation has gone silent. You guys are right that this silence probably isn't a great sign for UT but I wouldn't be surprised if he kept his commitment at all.

Really now? Who at AU is the story coming from? Why would AU feel good if he's hard to read and is telling varying things to people? Is he being silent to every school or what and who isn't this a great sign for? Are you sure Troy or Jacksonville State isn't in it? Are you sure who you really are? Are you as confused as everyone that reads your posts? Lots of questions!

Lambert may be the most important recruit, in this class as how he figures into the Vols defensive scheme.

Lambert thread.....I.....can't.....quit.....you..... :fool:

CBJ shouldn't negatively be judged on this outcome in anyway. If we lose lambert I won't worry in the least about this becoming a trend

When it comes to his job, CBJ will be judged by his wins and losses. Winning recruiting battles can help with that.

If I were Lambert and read all these negative comments, which are PURE speculation and have ZERO basis in fact, it certainly wouldn't have a positive impact. Last we heard from the man himself, he said he was all VOL. Since then, nothing but silence. No news is good news. Let's see if we can somehow convince Lambert we love him and want him to sign with us.

You just made my point.

He is absolutely kicking serious Ass in that department. This would hurt but not enough to change the grand slam he is hitting with this class

I know lots of people are freaking out about the silence from VQ and reading a lot into that. However, the last info we heard from a reporter talking to Lambert was Kipp Adams, who said that Lambert "didn't really elaborate" on his visit with Auburn other than to say "it went well." I would much rather base my thoughts on Lambert's recruitment on information rather than the lack of information. Those quotes, in context with Lambert's previous strong comments about UT, seem more favorable for the good guys. Food for thought.

Also said a final decision would be Wednesday.

Does this mean anything??
Is he talking about people talking about him flipping??
So much confusion?

@DaLamb89: I don't associate myself with ignorant people .

Butch has to win battles like Lambert if he's going to amount to much more than Derek Dooley. Looks to be a rinse and repeat version of what we saw with Dooley and D-linemen for 3 years.

Except that Butch has landed 3-4 top 300 freshman D-lineman in one year already. Lambert hurts next year, but what hurts worse is if we lose a Hendrix or Barnett. We need a foundation before guys like Lambert truly make a difference here. I want Lambert for sure, but don't think Butch for one second is Dooley 2.0. Butch has done more for this program in one year then Dooley did in 3.

I can't stand twidiots. Some dude on twitter telling Lambert he'd better be 100% or move on. My word there are some stupid people in this world.

I thought my post was fairly clear. I dont see what was so confusing about it.

Auburn's coaches feel that their pitch has legitimately peaked his interest. Auburn feels fairly good because the kid isn't saying "Sorry, no thanks". He is hard to read because he's been telling several schools favorable things during his recruitment, which is why neither side here has a solid idea what this kid is going to do on Wednesday. The current "silence" is obviously implied to be bad for Tennessee: you guys had the last visit and he is already committed to you, it seems strange that he hasn't verbally finalized his commitment since the in-home meeting if he truly did plan on sticking with you guys. Obviously the "silence" could turn out to mean jack-****; but in the world of recruiting it usually isn't great news (looking at it from the UT angle).

If Matt Watson is on this board, I just want you to know you can go **** yourself.

Don't tweet stupid things to recruits. As I said in my tweet to you; never tweet a recruit again, you're making us all look bad.
