'14 JUCO DT Davonte Lambert (Auburn Commit 12/18/13)

Several members have mentioned Auburn's 247 reputation for misrepresenting things. You cannot be serious.

If lambert signs with auburn on Wednesday I will believe that 247 source was garner all along and this was done the weekend he visited auburn

@vwharton3: Can't wait to ball out at Tennessee with my boy @DaLamb89 and the rest of the 14' class.. Knoxville is gonna be crazy for the next 4 years!!

Hi matt Watson!

Your unacceptable post to dews a few days ago gave you away

who is Matt Watson? seriously

i was just laughin at your negative outlook. you do it to every recruit every chance you get. youre so insecure. you question every recruits status. its funny. you will look so silly when he signs with the Vols

I think Lambert just got tired of answering questions which is why he cut off the media and he's going to sign with UT on Wednesday like he had always planned.

I mean, I honestly don't mind Bruin's opinions. All he is really doing is thinking out loud, and IMO it's better to be able to think for yourself then just go with majority opinion.

But then again I value the ability to think for one's self whether positive or negative.

Except that Butch has landed 3-4 top 300 freshman D-lineman in one year already. Lambert hurts next year, but what hurts worse is if we lose a Hendrix or Barnett. We need a foundation before guys like Lambert truly make a difference here. I want Lambert for sure, but don't think Butch for one second is Dooley 2.0. Butch has done more for this program in one year then Dooley did in 3.

So much wrong with this statement. "Butch has done more for this program in one year then Dooley did in 3." While I hope this statement comes to fruition, NSD isn't until February. Butch has done nothing until he has those signatures.

"We need a foundation before guys like Lambert truly make a difference here." One player can do more for a program than most care to admit. Going to the extremes, remember Cam Newton? Lambert can absolutely be a game changer on D. A solid D next year is the difference between making a bowl and having another losing season. Back to back losing seasons would absolutely hurt CBJ's recruiting. Next year's recruits will be looking for progress. Progress means a better record. No progress means a fall off in recruiting. Are you starting to see the bigger picture yet?

Panicking does nothing, but there is ample evidence to be concerned. If Lambert flips, there is no minimizing the loss. This young man is a key cog in CBJ's plan. If we lose him, I'm sure Butch will say the right things publicly, but behind closed doors, he'll be cursing up a storm. Butch knows this would be a big loss, and he'll be in full scramble mode if it happens. The problem is, unless he can get someone committed elsewhere to flip, there is no one else on the board even close to Lambert.

He is "committed" to UT, yet he is announcing a decision on Wednesday. There wouldn't be questions in the first place if he told AU... no, im not interested.

I have no respect for players that have a decision ceremony when they are committed to a school, whether they are coming to UT or not. In my eyes, Lambert is just another recruit we are chasing.

Also, I think he flipped with all of the silence from him and the VQ guys.

Man....it's gonna feel like a freaking eternity from now until Wednesday. Hopefully he remains solid and a true VFL...

WTF? This dude has been blowing up Devonte's twitter with negative bulls***. Why would anyone calling themselves a Vol fan do this? Other then pure stupidity of course. If anyone knows this dude smack him up side the head and tell him STFU on twitter.

100% agree. He is gone, and instead of letting the coaches who have been loyal to him for months know, he decides to leave everyone hanging until he decides is the time. That's after he said I have known for a while. I hope he stays true to his word, just as this staff has done, but I don't have a good feeling about it.

I think he is gone also. If he was all Vol he wouldn't be having to decide anything. I think he is waiting to the last minute to break the news to BJ. I hope I am wrong but it don't make sense to decide when you are supposedly already committed to a school.

Who was his tour guide on his weekend in Auburn ? Hopefully not Gabe Wright.

Wouldn't it be glorious if he punked GW?

IMO, he is pissed that him flipping got out instead of being kept quiet... Now he isn't saying anything... Barn

Just thought of this. He is having a signing ceremony. Coleman Thomas had one of those. He had not seen other coaches as far as we know. But, he did have this. Not quite the same as a big announcement. Not lik lambert was doing nothing and then set this up. He may sign with us or auburn. Would not freak out over JUST the fact he is having the ceremony with family.
