'14 JUCO DT Davonte Lambert (Auburn Commit 12/18/13)

Dude on twitter is an Auburn troll imo. And everyone is falling for it, lol.

He has posted a picture of his UT diploma so we know he graduated from UT, doesn't necessarily make him a Vol fan though.

His mantra in this is that you're either 100% a Vol or not. If not, then he thinks you should go on. I guess he expects Lambert to post and give quotes to recruiting sites that he's 100% VFL etc. etc. Hell... I do to, but I understand that everyone is different and circumstances sometimes change.

I hope Lambert is a Vol on Wednesday but if not, I highly doubt it has anything to do with Matt Watson.

Probably all true.

This Watson cat is still the worst kind of megadouche. Pathetic case of Twitter-balls, IMO.

Here is the talk from thread on AU Rivals -

"Volquest's Austin Brice was on the radio this morning and said that Tennessee's coaches had been led to believe that he was signing with them. He also said that Lambert wasn't talking and that nobody really knew for certain. He said that if Auburn did get him that it would be a killer to Tennessee's recruiting class, that they were really counting on Lambert."

"Kipp Adams spoke to Lambert after Gus and Co had their in-home with him and he said..

Asked Lambert when everyone would know where he was going.

Lambert said, 'Next Wednesday'.

If he was a Vol Lock, he would have said, I am all Vol or something of that nature. I mean he is committed to them. If he wasnt thinking HARD about flipping, he wouldnt have said that. I have a feeling we see him sign with AU on Weds. to keep the pressure off him. I am sure if he wanted to flip our coaches told him just to sign his papers to AU on signing day this weds. "

"Over on the DawgVent they are saying he is going to "jilt UTk and flip to Aubie". That is their words. IDK if they have inside sources or not, but they are very confident we get him and Russell".

I really hope Davonte is a Vol. He's said he's a vol. He's asked why he has to keep reassuring anybody and to not be talking about him when you don't know him. Still some of y'all think its more important to let the whole world see your opinion even if it leads to losing a recruit instead of just letting it play out. Some of y'all have said he opens himself up to this if he receives other coaches - that's not true. This is a decision that will effect his life but doesn't effect ours at all - we have no importance in it. We don't have his best interest at heart. If he has a doubt, he'll do research and either reaffirm his decision or go somewhere else. That's what we would do if it came down to the last minute and we had doubt or got new information that might affect our decision. No one knows what might go on. At times when I have two pretty equal choices in front of me sometimes the smallest of things can sway me one way or another. People say they shouldn't be swayed by what they read but people here form opinions daily about some little tidbit they read - it happens. I just wish we could say "we need Davonte" or "sure hope Davonte comes here" then discuss what went down afterward to ensure we were not the "last straw" in an otherwise equal decision.

Very well said. I get sick of hearing some on here want to try to convince us they actually know something about these recruits, or about football, but actually make fools of themselves.

They are willing to tear down the work our coaches are killing themselves to get down in order to put negative remarks on here.

Compromise can be bad in many cases, but in recruiting, we should trust our coaches thru the process. Their jobs depend upon the decisions they make. We, however, can say any stupid thing we want to and it probably won't affect us at all.

I am proud of the job our coaches are doing, and I really appreciate these great recruits trusting them and choosing Tennessee.

Go Vols!

I believe this will prove accurate. I think he is going to say nothing and just sign with Auburn Wednesday, unfortunately.

If you haven't read this, do it. It sums up what we as fans should be doing to help our coaching staff. If you want Davonte to be on our team, don't chance it AT ALL by saying stupid, negative things while citing "free speech and message board." Fan talk makes a difference; always has, always will.

Come on, Davonte, stick with your gut and be a Vol for Life!!

Loyalty doesn't seem to exist in the USA anymore. I wonder why our country is starting to collapse.

It's past time that lieing to any staff is just an acceptable part of the process.

Not saying that is happening here but if a kid flipped 2 weeks ago and told our staff on Saturday a blatant lie he is lacking of serious character.

Does anyone think this is why we took Mixon? His measurables are pretty similar to Lambert's, as well as him being an early enrollee. Maybe the coaches were already worried about losing lambert. If he signs with us, then the coaches tell Mixon to look around… If he signs with Auburn, then Mixon enrolls at UT in January.

Loyalty to what? He hasn't signed any sort of contract or binding agreement. So what should he be loyal to? He made a verbal commitment many months ago, but things and situations change that none of us are privy to. Should he tell all of us what those are so that he can have our blessing IF he does flip? This is the nature of recruiting. Stop acting like a teenage girl....

That goes too far back IMO

I really think you are going to start hearing about us pushing hard for huertolo in the next few days.

Unrelated IMO. Although this situation makes me more thankful for Mixon.

But he has said multiple times just the opposite, just not this time. Maybe he's tired of people asking, just like he said he was.

Loyalty to his own word. Remember just last week he was proclaiming himself to be a vol. if he flips that will be proven to have been a lie

I'm going to go on record and say that IF he flips on Wednesday (and I think he will) then it is a absolute huge blow to this class. If I had to pick between getting this guy or Adoree Jackson I'd choose Lambert. He's probably the most important piece to this class in regards to having immediate success next year. Things like this happen every year to pretty much every team but this one really sucks. I especially hate the fact that it's Auburn too. Words can't describe how much I hate Auburn. Not because of this but there's just something sketchy about that program. I mean are we really supposed to be led to believe that they didn't pay Cam Newton? /Rant.

Don't make a commitment you won't be loyal to. It's just being a man. He shouldn't of made the commitment. It's kinda a lack of character. How would you feel if you had a woman that made a verbal committed to you, then she sleeps with another man? It sounds like you'd be fine with it. If you're not 100%, then don't make the commitment, its that simple.

What about the kids that flip to UT? Do you call them liars? Should we not accept them and kick them off of the team? Stop having double standards and living your life through college aged kids.

As I have said before, situations change. Mr. Lambert is entitled to change his mind. He is a grown man and has free will. He does not owe anyone on Volnation a reason why.
