'14 JUCO DT Davonte Lambert (Auburn Commit 12/18/13)

My gut says he's a Vol. I think we will be pleasantly surprised on Wednesday. I think Auburn made this fun, but I think his family makes him keep his word to us.

This. I think Auburn has given him quite a bit to think about. But at the end of the day I think/hope he sticks with his commitment. If he's not speaking to Auburn mods either, that makes me feel a bit better. But Auburn still makes me nervous. Auburn needs to get bent.....gtfo

IMO, during his in-home visit with Garner, he was wearing a wire the whole time. Garner said, "Hey, if you sign with us, we have some money waiting for you on the Plains." Lambert records the whole thing, signs with the Vols on Wednesday and turns the tape in to the NCAA. :)

You let Rodney Garner in home, it's generally a done "deal."

It may just be me pumping bright orange sunshine but BuTch has proven to be a pretty solid closer. He has been killing it in the living room and makes families feel good about him looking after their kids. I say BuTch gets it done. .

I know you catch a lot of crap on here but I think you're 100% right on Davonte. I hope I'm wrong but I fully expect Lambert to flip to AU Wednesday.

We all agree that we hope I am wrong. We need the kid badly next year. After next year his worth diminishes greatly but none the less next year he is the most important player in this class IMO

I hope so. Would be great. The signs aren't looking great though

Top notch DL talent never diminishes in worth. I think I know what you meant though. We will have more HS guys ready to contribute at that point but he would still be of tremendous value.

Yep. I was saying our elite hs talent will be hell on wheels by 2015 and lambert won't be as important as in 2014

I have to agree. Lambert is probably the most important player in this class. We will not get back to competing at a high level without elite D linemen, especially ones that are ready to play now.

I really hope Davonte is a Vol. He's said he's a vol. He's asked why he has to keep reassuring anybody and to not be talking about him when you don't know him. Still some of y'all think its more important to let the whole world see your opinion even if it leads to losing a recruit instead of just letting it play out. Some of y'all have said he opens himself up to this if he receives other coaches - that's not true. This is a decision that will effect his life but doesn't effect ours at all - we have no importance in it. We don't have his best interest at heart. If he has a doubt, he'll do research and either reaffirm his decision or go somewhere else. That's what we would do if it came down to the last minute and we had doubt or got new information that might affect our decision. No one knows what might go on. At times when I have two pretty equal choices in front of me sometimes the smallest of things can sway me one way or another. People say they shouldn't be swayed by what they read but people here form opinions daily about some little tidbit they read - it happens. I just wish we could say "we need Davonte" or "sure hope Davonte comes here" then discuss what went down afterward to ensure we were not the "last straw" in an otherwise equal decision.

Great thesis statement for doing away with all message board coverage of recruiting.

Lets shut her down freak

This does not have a good vibe. To me, going silent means you are changing as that is what would generate the most questions and contact from the media. If he wants the speculation to end he could just reaffirm his commitment.
