He told the coaches he was coming to UT. About 30-60 mins before announcement, he let them know he flipped, making it too late to recruit someone else. Now he likely won't qualify as an EE for Auburn according to Hubbs.

2 weeks before he announced Auburns 247 reported he was going to flip. He strongly denied that. I feel he flipped at that point and purposely kept it from our staff

Yeah, the whole calling out of Vol fans and defiantly denying the report added to the sizzle of the blowback. Couple that with the cryptic 'Doing what's best for my family' and Auburn's history of paying recruits and you're looking at why Vol fans got bent out of shape.

I don't hate or really have any emotions one way or other about the kid. Just thought he handled his recruitment poorly. Didn't care about him whining all over twitter about the response from Vol fans. I don't condone any of it, but he definitely shouldn't have been surprised.

I don't think it's even that. A kid chooses another school and things don't work out and you get him, fine. But a recruit that lies to the staff and the recruits in the class with him? IDK I don't see how you can take that kind of kid at that point and send that kind of message? I think if Lambert had flipped earlier and been up front with the staff maybe we still take a shot at him if he is not an EE.
