'14 JUCO DT Davonte Lambert (Auburn Commit 12/18/13)

My nephew is a senior at Auburn. He said he has some of the players in his classes and he says that the team has these "checkers"that come by the classes and look in to make sure the players are in class and check them off. He said in one class a couple of the players would sit there until the checker came by then immediately throw their bookbags over their shoulders and say... "we're outta here" and walk out.
That is not auburn specific. that goes on everywhere

Why do you people keep bringing this thread back up to the top with posts? Moderator please lock this thread and let it drop out of site. It looks embarrassing to keep being butt hurt over this recruit. Let it die. Day after day I keep coming on here and seeing this thread at the top of the page. Enough is enough.

Don't worry about it..it'll die down when Bryant flips to Bama :)

Well I tried that (not posting to let if drop out of sight) for about a week hoping people would figure it out, but we have some pretty slow folks on here who just insist on keeping this recruit alive, so I had to come in and say enough is enough. Let it die people.

If this has been addressed already, I'm sorry. I must've missed it. Are we bound to Lambert if he has a change of heart? Since he had signed papers, we can't deny him now, right?

Also are we allowed to sign 25 a year or enroll 25? I ask bc I'm trying to decide if we lost a spot when he flipped. Thanks.

This was posted on Auburn board without source. I think it was a newspaper article.

Although Lambert's late switch to the Tigers didn't come as a complete surprise, it was undoubtedly a blow to the Vols' incoming group of defensive linemen.

At the very least, he was expected to be a major contributor for UT, and he likely projected as an immediate starter at either strongside defensive end or defensive tackle. And with Lambert no longer in the fold, the Vols will add only one junior-college prospect ? Williams ? to their rebuilding defensive line when spring-semester classes start on Jan. 8.

Lambert continued to indicate to Tennessee last week that he planned to stick with the Vols, but both UT and Auburn seemed to feel good about their chances over the final days leading up to the start of the early juco signing period. Even on Tuesday, the day before he signed with the Tigers, he seemed to be giving mixed signals, but he told several people that he was likely to sign with Tennessee.

By all accounts, Lambert went back and forth between the two schools Wednesday before finally settling on Auburn not long before his scheduled announcement.

There appears to be at least some truth to the rumors that began to circulate Thursday regarding Lambert's academic status. Both schools ? UT in particular ? were aware before he signed with Auburn last week that there was no guarantee he would be able to enroll at the college of his choice in January, and he apparently still has some work to do if he wants to join the Tigers next month.

If Lambert isn't able to make it to Auburn for the start of spring-semester classes, he might be forced to return to Georgia Military for another semester, which would void his signed National Letter of Intent and require him to sign again in February.

Let the debate...continue!

As a JUCO, he signed a NLI during the JUCO early signing period. The Financial Aid papers he signed with us are only for EEs and I assume they became void when he signed the NLI with Auburn. If he in fact ends up unable to enroll at Auburn in January, everything is voided and he will have to return to GMC for the spring semester and sign along with everyone else in February.

As for your second question, the cap is on enrolling 25. That is before back-counting, greyshirts, etc.
