"Certainly raw on the DL, but great size and athletic ability. He may be more of a project, but a lot of schools are interested in seeing what he looks like this season. His recruitment coud really heat up come November when his season is finished."

I can't get over the fact that this kid's name is Jihad and his last name is Ward. Hilarious.

I can never make an assessment based on JUCO films. Sometimes the talent level isn't great, but on the other hand you have lots of studs playing that level. I just can't ever make up my mind. This guy certainly looks like a monster in the highlight film on hudl tho.

What's the deal with an uncomittable offer? By definition an offer is committable under contract law. Its an oxymoron. If I were a recruit and a school "offered" me a scholarship that I could not take, I'd take it as an affront.

There is no such thing as an uncommittable offer. It is something fans created to make themselves feel better about not landing a recruit. If your offer is uncommittable, you dont have an offer. The only difference is if someone is offered, but the team is not taking any additional commitments at their position, in which case, they had an offer, but are not able to commit any longer, thus, they no longer have an offer.

There are contingent offers. It improves the relationship with the recruits who you might want to like and pick you later. They can then list you on Rivals. It's good for bragging rights and goodwill. At least that is my perception of the process.

Yeah, that's true. There's a lot of funny business involved. A lot of kids claiming they have offers when they dont or only have offers if someone doesn't commit. For example, our starting QB last year (now FB/HB/TE) had a contingent offer from Ohio State if he took an official visit. He passed on being Pryor and eventually Braxton Miller's backup to play at Temple. Rivals couldn't believe it, and dropped his star rating from 3 to 2.

WR that grew into a D-lineman? Sounds like a perfect recipe for Volnation. Take IMO.

Pretty good looking DT if you ask me. It's a pretty big roll of the dice to take a Juco "project", but I think this is one that would be worth the risk. Kid looks like a beast. (On the left in the pic).
