:eek:lol:

Lol! Most people have haters. You can either choose to use that as an excuse to go cry, or you can win. I live on a planet called earth where there are winners and losers. I also live in a state where almost everyone has a disability. You can't use a disability as a crutch to cater to people who are mentally deficient.

You guys are just making excuses that others have kicked to the curb. When we stop making excuses for these kids, we can provide them a real useful education.

Did mommy teach you how to personally attack people? Grow up man. Btw, I had a mental disability and beat it. You don't know me at all. I'd whip your sorry ass for your comment.

Maybe I believe in not limiting people because of a label. Weatherd can do anything he wants if he puts his mind to it.

Almost everyone in Cali has a disability alright. Rampant narcissism.

It's sad to see how many people have a prescription to Ritalin. Mommies and daddies think their kids have a problem, and the doctor writes them a script for it.

just because you got over your "mental disability" before life got serious (college), doesn't mean everyone else on this "planet called earth" was fortunate enough to do so as well. Get a grip.

Keep on working then. Can't be using it as an excuse though. He's either good enough academically to qualify, or he's not. I doubt Chris is incapable to qualify because he can learn a playbook.

The value of an education would go out the gutter if anyone can get in.

I feel sorry for people who can't live a normal life. People who have serious cases of something. I don't feel sorry for people who don't put in the effort.

@ChrisWeatherd12 bro I was about to reach across the window and slap that lady!!

Looks like CW is trying to take care of business on campus.[/QUOTE]

CW's "taken care of business" could make it onto Dave Chappel's "keeping it real" episodes.

Lol! I hope this kid makes it in.

Doc I'm far from prejudice. Sometimes we say or type before our mind realizes what we are saying. I apologize if I offended anyone. I know what a severe disability looks like as I have family members with severe autism. I'm man enough to acknowledge I was wrong. Go Vols and God Bless America!

Sorry! Dealing with family and friends with disabilities have made me overly sensitive. Go Vols!
Really sorry that I compared you to burger!

Embrace the ignore button. I promise it'll change your life. :hi:

You need to stop saying this, Burger. You do realize that the more educated a society, the more economically advantageous, don't you? When it comes to education, it's not a zero sum game. If you try to argue with this, you will fail.

However, you are right in that higher education should not be a one-size-fits-all sort of thing. We need ways of improving the abilities and skills of all of members of society, not just those with circumscribed academic abilities.

Yes, but being handed an education and earning an education are two different things. People have things their good at, and things they suck at. A university education is not for everyone though. There are other means of getting educated like vocational schools and such. If you're not qualified to get an education at a D-1 university, then you don't deserve to have a quality education handed to you. What's the point of an education if you're not getting educated? We'd be wasting both the institutions and the kid's time. Going to school is a privilege, not a right.

There are all kinds of ways to increase the skill level of society. The members just need to put in the work.

First and foremost, we don't know if Weatherd will be eligible or ineligible. Jumping to conclusions one way or the other because of oblique social media statements and a lack of concrete information one way or the other is absurd.

Secondly, I hope Weatherd is declared eligible to suit up for Tennessee in the Fall of 2014 because a) we desperately need him, b) he chose UT over several other big time offers (including his mother's alma mater, Texas A&M), c) I don't really care about his JUCO GPA as long as he is eligible, and no one else should either, d) we don't know if he had personal issues or challenges that could explain a poor academic performance (assuming he even had a poor academic performance), and e) no one knows his academic background, the difficulty of Trinity Valley C.C.'s academic courses, whether he has any learning disabilities, etc., and speculating seems ridiculous, rude, and exhibits an overly intensive inquiry into a player's personal life.

From reading this thread, it appears that we have more Rhodes, Marshall, and Gates Scholars and Phi Beta Kappa members than all other fan bases combined. The spelling, grammar, and logical reasoning of most posters, however, calls that into serious doubt.

In sum, leave the kid alone. If he is eligible, all of the denigrating of his academic performance, intelligence, and work ethic will have, largely, been wrong if not also wildly inappropriate, and most of the posters, including the judgmental ones, will celebrate his eligibility. If he is ineligible, I'm sure he will be more disappointed than anyone and, even then, there could be, and likely are, good reasons for his ineligibility beyond character flaws that some posters seem to know so much about from limited to no information one way or the other. I, for one, am rooting for him to be eligible.
