He is a big need at this position. As we lose most of our starting O-line next year. He has the chance to come in and start.

On Blair.

"I think Auburn will be tough to beat out. He's from Alabama and Auburn is pushing hard. His recruitment seemed to take on a different feel when the Tigers offered."

I think Auburn has four 4-star OT's in their 2-deep published last Friday and none is older than a sophomore. I wonder how much he's going to be thinking about that.

All depends on the coaches selling it IMO. "Your better than all the guys we have", might be enough to get the kid on board. Just have to hope the kid really looks over both situations and decides UT is his best opportunity.

Blair is SEC ready on Day 1. The aforementioned, not so much. Tennessee has mad significant strides in this race, but Auburn has been the team to beat since they offered Mr. Blair.

has to be so tough as a coach in Butch's spot to sell the kid on NOT taking on that depth chart competition without sounding like you're saying "yeah man you aren't good enough to get in the mix there."

I figure the longer he waits could be favorable to us. On the other hand I'm also hoping that the young OLine of Auburn plays in our favor when they come to Knoxville in November. Cake and eat it too, huh? :)

So when Blair gets there, they will be Juniors and sophomores. A JC kid is gonna take a hard look at that. I'm sure he feels he will beat them for the starting spot, but he may also feel that's a lot of people at his spot.

If they are already in the 2 deep, they have an extra year in the system and a leg up on the starting spot. That's gonna play a big factor and I'm sure one of the reasons he has not already committed to Auburn.

Your exactly right. Was '99 the last time we beat them? We have alot of bad losing streaks against AU, AL and UF. No wonder I hate these damn fans in Ala.

The Auburn streak will come to an end this year. Unfortunately, we will probably have to wait a little longer for the other 2.
