Wouldn't hurt if this was his last visit.

If we get his final visit, I'll be very confident that we land him. Man, wouldn't that be something... a big Juco OT and a Juco DT.

SN: When the Vols were in this same situation in years past, Dooley failed us. Butch will succeed.

Much like Lamin, not sure we would be wise to hold spots till November for kids who who seem to favor other schools right now. We would have to tell alot of other kids NO between now and then or slow play them and that has not been working out for us. "We are full right now" tends to trigger a commitment to another school, as it should. Kids are starting to see how this works. On Monday, "We love you, and want you to be the next brick". On Wednesday, "We are full(even though noone at your position shows having committed) and may consider taking you later if you still answer our call if someone flips in the next 6 months".

LV: I feel exactly the opposite. We are in a prime position to hold spots right now. I'm glad CBJ isn't rushing to fill spots with weaker prospects when great ones that fit our needs are still available. He'd be a fool to rush this process IMO.

With the way recruiting has changed, I can't agree at all. Letting it play out could hang us out to dry. We just passed on (3) DTs that most anyone on this board would have taken just 2-3 weeks ago. Winning the recruiting battle would be great. Losing these battles could set us up for major problems going forward. If Barnett chooses candy, Lambert goes to UF, Blair heads to AU, and Bama makes a push for Mosley, which could all very well play out, we would be screwed. If you believe these guys are silents, then there are no concerns. I just don't buy it myself.

That's the key...... those three players were guys that the people on this board would take....there is a reason that none of us are big time coaches.

There is a big difference in my opinion in the way this staff is slow playing versus previous years. This year we are slow playing a kid in July, August, September not late December and January. If some of these guys commit elsewhere in August (i.e. Barnett) then we have almost 6 months to keep recruiting them or other players. Patience.

The difference is we are only in on maybe 4-5 DTs who are not already committed elsewhere. If we happen to miss on these last few, then your trying to get a kid to flip on his commitment in Dec/Jan instead of being in his top 3 with hats on a table. Very different situation IMO.

Dude you are the most pessimistic person here. Congrats. With our recent past I get not wanting to get burned but seriously trust these guys that are now coaching a little.

Lets let the seasons play out (UT and HS). These 4-5 guys are not the only impact DTs left on the planet, there will be others emerge over the course of the season IF we miss on these. Plus, I dont see this staff as the type that stops recruiting a kid even if they commit somewhere else in August or September, too many things can happen between then and February.

The pessimism will slowly go away brick by brick. Trust the process, bro!

sounds about right...I'm sure the staff has a contingency plan in place and like you said, others will emerge.

That's my thought as well. A lot of shake up is going to occur between now and December. Coaches and teams who are expected to do well won't. A good number of coaches (including some in the SEC) will either be fired or exit the season on the hot seat, opening up their commit lists for the picking.

The key to me is are we aggressively building relationships and pursuing these individuals. Seems to me we are, so that's a net positive.

I'm just really not worried at this point.

I think Tennessee is still very much alive for Blair. FSU and Auburn have made this a battle, though with his official visits there. But, the good news for Tennessee is he didn't commit and will see Tennessee this fall for an official visit.

In a perfect world. We get Blair and Lambert to both commit and have instant contributors to the 2014 campaign to go along with Weatherd and the 2 WRs.

I'd like to see us add Judd or another Juco LB too. I love jucos! I'd even take two Juco Olinemen I we could.

“I went to Auburn and it felt like home, basically,” Blair said. “I was around the guys and the coaches or whatever, and everything just went great.”

But he admitted Tennessee once was his favorite, and he said he’s still giving strong consideration to the Vols. Asked whether he still intends to take an official visit to Tennessee this fall, he said, “Oh, yeah. Got to. Got to.”

“I would be at Tennessee on my bye week, but they’re playing (at) Oregon (on Sept. 14). ... It’s probably going to be after the season (when I visit Tennessee), because I’ve only got one bye week,” he said.

“I’ve done seen Tennessee two or three times, and I loved that place. I felt like home also there.”

Says the Barn is at the top of his list right now. However, it is very evident that UT is in the race and right behind Auburn. In the article, he very impressed with his las two UOVs to UT. He said he won't make it back until after the season because during his bye week, UT will be in Eugene, OR. Just need to get him back on campus as much as possible.

probably the reason we turned up the heat on Avery Gennesy

Looking at the 2014 Juco OTs I was curious why I had not heard more about him and if we were pushing to get him. Then I saw the East MS CC by his name and that may explain it. Usually a MS school lock with all the juco/cc "handlers" pushing kids to certain schools.

"Right now I'd say Auburn is my leader," Blair said on Monday. "They have great coaches, great players and it's a great place to be around," Blair said.

"I talked to the A&M coach yesterday," Blair said. "We set it up for the 14th. "They have great coaches or whatever. I don't really know too much about A&M because I haven't been down there yet. But from what I can tell over the phone, it's a great place to be."

"I'm going to go to Tennessee and Ole Miss after the season, but that's all I know," Blair said. "Once I get done with my visits, I'll pick."

"Playing time," Blair said. "It's all about playing time. That's it. I honestly don't know which one I can play at the most. I know I can play a lot at Tennessee, so I want to go down there and see."
