LV: I feel exactly the opposite. We are in a prime position to hold spots right now. I'm glad CBJ isn't rushing to fill spots with weaker prospects when great ones that fit our needs are still available. He'd be a fool to rush this process IMO.
With the way recruiting has changed, I can't agree at all. Letting it play out could hang us out to dry. We just passed on (3) DTs that most anyone on this board would have taken just 2-3 weeks ago. Winning the recruiting battle would be great. Losing these battles could set us up for major problems going forward. If Barnett chooses candy, Lambert goes to UF, Blair heads to AU, and Bama makes a push for Mosley, which could all very well play out, we would be screwed. If you believe these guys are silents, then there are no concerns. I just don't buy it myself.
There is a big difference in my opinion in the way this staff is slow playing versus previous years. This year we are slow playing a kid in July, August, September not late December and January. If some of these guys commit elsewhere in August (i.e. Barnett) then we have almost 6 months to keep recruiting them or other players. Patience.
The difference is we are only in on maybe 4-5 DTs who are not already committed elsewhere. If we happen to miss on these last few, then your trying to get a kid to flip on his commitment in Dec/Jan instead of being in his top 3 with hats on a table. Very different situation IMO.
Lets let the seasons play out (UT and HS). These 4-5 guys are not the only impact DTs left on the planet, there will be others emerge over the course of the season IF we miss on these. Plus, I dont see this staff as the type that stops recruiting a kid even if they commit somewhere else in August or September, too many things can happen between then and February.
sounds about right...I'm sure the staff has a contingency plan in place and like you said, others will emerge.
I went to Auburn and it felt like home, basically, Blair said. I was around the guys and the coaches or whatever, and everything just went great.
But he admitted Tennessee once was his favorite, and he said hes still giving strong consideration to the Vols. Asked whether he still intends to take an official visit to Tennessee this fall, he said, Oh, yeah. Got to. Got to.
I would be at Tennessee on my bye week, but theyre playing (at) Oregon (on Sept. 14). ... Its probably going to be after the season (when I visit Tennessee), because Ive only got one bye week, he said.
Ive done seen Tennessee two or three times, and I loved that place. I felt like home also there.

Says the Barn is at the top of his list right now. However, it is very evident that UT is in the race and right behind Auburn. In the article, he very impressed with his las two UOVs to UT. He said he won't make it back until after the season because during his bye week, UT will be in Eugene, OR. Just need to get him back on campus as much as possible.
probably the reason we turned up the heat on Avery Gennesy
"Right now I'd say Auburn is my leader," Blair said on Monday. "They have great coaches, great players and it's a great place to be around," Blair said.
"I talked to the A&M coach yesterday," Blair said. "We set it up for the 14th. "They have great coaches or whatever. I don't really know too much about A&M because I haven't been down there yet. But from what I can tell over the phone, it's a great place to be."
"I'm going to go to Tennessee and Ole Miss after the season, but that's all I know," Blair said. "Once I get done with my visits, I'll pick."
"Playing time," Blair said. "It's all about playing time. That's it. I honestly don't know which one I can play at the most. I know I can play a lot at Tennessee, so I want to go down there and see."
