Auburn rivals has a hot board they update weekly and last week they had Blair at 60%. This week they dropped him to 50% and said this...
AU leads for 4-star JUCO OT. FSU, Ole Miss, Tennessee contenders, Vols closing the gap.

Gave a like because I love the Austin Powers movies.

Early playing time is a big factor for Blair, and I think that is why we eventually land him.

Yet they're playing over everybody else.

that is not the case with Walls - Jwilliams has passed him on the depth chart

if vereen were healthy and when he does get healthy the same will be true for Cmiller

Lambert isnt on campus so they aren't starting over Lambert

it also would not surprise me at all to see Dobrien sneak in and grab that starting spot from Dhood once he gets some game experience

so lets say by game 5 or so when Vereen gets back it would not surprise me at all to see a starting DL of this

Vereen FR
Mcullers SR
Dobrien RS FR
Jwilliams JR

big dan is a big loss - rest not so much

Serious question: where are you seeing that? Genuinely curious because I want to make some money.

That was the golden nugget wins total released about a month ago. I think that is the standard O/U across the board. It is really hard for that number to move, although the +- changes.

I am looking forward to a better dline and defense period next year. I do not see the set back people are expecting

I'll be surprised if Couch doesn't play along side McCullers quite a bit.

i agree, but like they said he is splitting time with big dan on the current depth chart - my guess is they will rotate a lot, stay fresh, and both get plenty of reps

those are the 2 that i think it is fair to say are losses

the DE's and Hood being huge losses is a really tough case to make imo

that being said this isnt a huge dropoff imo

DE Jwilliams
3 DT - Lambert/Carr
nt - Dobrien/another juco
DE - vereen

They don't really play the same position. Walls will play alot.

Vereen is a rush end like J Smith and J Wms.

I am a little surprised that Couch did not get that other spot but he and McCullers should make a nice tandem. Possible that DO catches and passes Hood but from the available reports it does not sound likely. O'Brien has drawn alot more "he has a ways to go" than praise.

Possible... but it would definitely be surprising.

Vereen won't immediately start coming right off injury.

This is very true. He'll get plenty of playing time this year which will set up perfectly and give him experience for when he's starting next year. He's gonna be a good one

i would have initially thought walls would be the bigger end/smaller dt in this system and jwilliams would be the more rush end but the last depth chart has those 2 at the same position - Austin Peay Week Depth Chart - UTSPORTS.COM - University of Tennessee Athletics

I think Jwilliams might be a bit bigger than when we last saw him b/c he is at the bigger DE spot right now

i think couch not starting has more to do with them likely wanting to make sure he and big dan can both stay really fresh and make sure that particular DT spot is really an attacking position and a disruptive spot than him not performing well

obrien you are right has drawn a bit of not there yet - i just think sometimes kids need to get in some games before they start really developing and showing what they are capable of - if i were a coach and i had a solid, but not great player in Hood - i would make sure that Dobrien got a lot of reps as opposed to giving too many of those to hood - as long as there isnt a huge dropoff this year (which i would think it is reasonable to think there may not be) then it would really, really help you come next year

Thanks for the response. You know approximately what the +- is? Please tell me it's anywhere in the +.

Edit: for the over.

Anyone want to project the o-line next while we're at this?

sure - i think this line would be very capable of running this offense

T - Blair
G - Mjackson
C - Crowder
G - Wiesman
T - Kerby/asanders

and i think there is better chance than most on here that Tiny stays so we could see this - and this would be a very, very good line imo

T - Tiny
G - Mjackson
C - Crowder
G - Weisman
T - Blair

McCullers is the only DL player we lose that will have a substantive negative impact on this team.

The DL should improve next year as the young DE's (Vereen, Lewis, Miller ) take a step forward and the talented freshman DE's (Henderson and Hendrix) come in and compete, along with the veteran Jordan Williams. At DT Lambert, JUCO #2, O'Brien, Saulsberry, and Carr could be a very formidable group.

Walls, Corey Miller, Couch, and Hood are just experienced bodies. Smith is slightly above that group, but nothing special.

We will obviously take a step back at OL, but if we can find a respectable LT our OL will still be in the top half of the conference IMO

2015 will be a solid team.

Have to disagree here. Walls and Miller are much better than you give them credit for IMO, and maybe Couch too. We have to remember these guys had no coaching for 3 years. They will only get one year with another new staff but I think they will be much better and show what they can do. They will be missed.
