'14 JUCO TX WR Kameel Jackson (UT walk-on)

How many years would he have to play? If he is walking on this year, he would obviously be looking for a scholarship next year.
i think he has only played 1 yr of college ball. didnt play at Blinn (i think?) and didnt actually play for ULM. maybe 3 years? im not sure. kind of a messy history but im glad hes coming to UT

The SEC needs to permit player trading.

That would be awesome and beneficial to scholarship athletes who would otherwise have to surrender a year of playing if they wanted to transfer/ move on. And if a team like us who has wide receivers stacked up like cord wood and no one would take a trade we could put him on waivers in another conference.

I know there are shortfalls, but it would be cool to see.

I'm not sure but I was thinking he has 2 years of eligibility left. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Yes. He has two to play two (coming in as a redshirt junior). Class of 2011, so this is his 4th year of college. Eligibility clock started then, so even though he has only actually played one season he has exhausted 3 years of eligibility up to this point.

Is this the player that mysteriously disappeared from the roster at his Junior college? The one that was committed to us and then sort of fell off the radar?

I'll get excited when there is a 4star walk on DT.
Otherwise CBJ is stock piling one position.

"Stockpiling" 4* WALKONS!!!...wish we had Dooley back huh?

unless that was well played sarcasm...if so :hi:

Are you serious? You can't just trade a student-athlete like you would a player in the NFL unless, by some chance, two teams had players who wanted to transfer out and were willing to be "traded" to the other team with said transfer. But you couldn't just go pick one of your receivers and ask them to transfer bc you want to trade him for another player..that's ridiculous. They chose to come to that school for more than just playing football in most cases. I'm not sure if that's who you meant or not but I'm hoping not.

Yeah, I would be very much against that. Kid commits and a coach can then just trade him whenever he likes? I mean the school/education is still a part of picking a school right?

Kid commits to Tennessee. 13 months later he has been traded to UMass which does not even have his major.

Um, No.

Times are tense. I may be kinder if we win a bowl game.
