Positive development. However, I am miffed that it took Strip this long to realize that we need big DT's

I am guessing that is what he told Elam to justify not offering. I also imagine that they consider 280-300 lb. guys as smaller and quicker. They probably do not require a 325+ lb. DL in their system. That is for the 3-4. But, I am sure all of our coaches are adjusting just like everyone else would.

I agree - recruiting is not an exact science and sometimes your 2nd choice ends up being a really great option

That is a huge difference. Maybe once rivals found out that UT offered they dropped him in the rankings.

He's not a 5 star kind of player. To be honest, the espn rating is prob the most accurate for Elam. He's a 4 star player. He dominated at bamas camp and ppl thought he may commit to them. Very shortly after that he jumped 200 spots which made zero sense.

Kid has visited/camped at at least 12 schools. He almost committed once already. We sure are not early.
