On Tuesday, UA assistant coach Lance Thompson visited Elam at his school. The following day, head coach Nick Saban talked with the Kentucky native via Skype. “Coach Thompson was just talking to me about getting me down there and how much he wants me to play down there,” Elam said. “Coach Saban always talks about me and how they just want me down there. They say I’m their No. 1 guy at the nose tackle position.

At 6-foot-6 and 340 pounds, Elam recently posted a 32-inch vertical jump and ran the 40-yard dash in five seconds flat.

In the last month, he’s added a pair of Big 10 offers from Indiana and Purdue. He’s also taken visits to Florida, Kentucky and Louisville and Tennessee this spring, and his current top three includes Alabama, Florida and Kentucky.

Of the three, the Gators are the only school not to offer yet, but UF assistant coach Joker Phillips said there was a strong possibility that they offer Elam when he visits in June.

Elam says he will likely make his decision close to signing day.

Wouldn't surprise me. Bama makes me so sick to my stomach. Mosley could start day one here at DT or not play at Bama for the next two years. Kind of like Karma at RB for them last year.

foxsportsnext.com says he has narrowed his list, but I don't believe Tn has offered yet, so I don't know where we stand with him.

"The camp went real well," said Elam. "Coach Saban came to watch me one time. I whooped this 300-pound kid. He was good, but I just dominated him.

"Coach Saban said that's all he needed to see. He said I picked him up and drove him 10 yards and dumped him like a dump truck. That was amazing to hear that from him. The offensive line coach was like, 'You are killing my o-linemen just let us win one'. It was great.

Coach Saban said I am his No. 1 guy for nose tackle. He said don't listen to what anyone else says. He said, 'Listen to me. I am telling you that you are the No. 1 recruit for us'. That was nice hearing that come from him."

I really hope Butch shuts Saban the hell up soon. Then recruits will actually listen to someone at eye level instead of an ankle biting midget with a swole head.

I'm getting tired of Saban selling that, "ur our number 1 target at...". And when he says our he means him and all his fake glory and his millions of bandwagon fans. Hope Butch wipes the smile off of Saban

So Jones does not tell a kid they are their top choice at a position. New age recruiting I like.

Every kid is satans #1 guy until closer to NSD when those #1 guys are told to look elsewhere or accept a grayshirt.

he mentioned something about Joker not realizing the talent in KY. i guess hes upset Joker didnt offer him or something
