I have only read about him at the UA camp and the word was he dominated and there were 4 and 5 stars he went against. But the camp is closed to the media so it is not they were there to watch him and bumped him for it.

Hmm well I'm sure Butch and Co. and doing their due diligence and giving this guy a closer look. I'm no talent evaluator but I think this guy could play.

So he's unranked on Scout, a low 3-star on Rivals, and a sudden "5-star" on 247?!?! Um yeah that's BS. Especially now that he's a top-10 player on 247... I don't believe this for a damn second

I agree. I'm not saying he is a bad player, but that is not top 10 tape to me. Not even top 50

As much as I think he was boosted up the rankings because he is headed to bama, if the kid was headed to Tennessee everyone on here would be pounding their chest about our new 5* stud. YOU KNOW IT! :p

Why is he a 99 but then a 92 in the composite. Goes from 10 nationally to 170 something. Makes no sense to me. 247 botched the hell out of that one.

Composite is all the recruiting sites ranking combined for a given player. Obviously the other sites don't think so highly of Mr. Elam.

Top 10 in the country is a joke. 247 is catering to where they are making $$$ and those are the UK and Bama sites. I've noticed 247 is becoming extremely political with some of their rankings. I wonder if that has to do with some of the former Rivals guys working for them now? They were getting that way when they were with Rivals.

Well, I think we have established that Rivals gives better ratings based on who goes to their camps and not necessarily who is the most talented. This is where we have to trust the coaches and not get too caught up with stars. Because apparently these recruiting sites aren't ranking kids on a level playing field.

Rivals was always a bama site. It was once a site like this for Alabama fans. I don't think people get that sometimes. Bama is in front right now but in years they were average at best their recruits would get boost all the time. Their founders roll tide.
