Barker will continue to travel on recruiting visits next month as well. The first weekend of April, he has a trip planned to Knoxville to see Tennessee. On April 8 and April 10, during spring break, he will visit Kentucky for a pair of spring practices. Then another three-day trip to South Carolina is on deck for the weekend of April 13. Barker also mentioned a possible visit to Ole Miss, and maybe another to a different undetermined program if time allows.

Which other programs are in the mix?

"Kentucky and Tennessee, Ole Miss, Louisville, and then there are a couple of others that haven't offered me that I've been talking to."

Drew Barker's Path To College Football Was Always Planned

Barker will visit Tennessee the first weekend of April. He has history with the Vols staff although it comes from a different place. Barker is also excited about Tennessee's current recruiting class.

“I haven’t been there since the new staff has been there,” he said. “The one thing I really like about Tennessee is the coaching staff. They’ve been recruiting me for a long time because they were at (Cincinnati) and (UC) was 10 minutes down the road. They’ve been recruiting me since eighth grade, freshman year, and I have a tight bond with the Tennessee coaches. Sometime we don’t talk about football when I call them, we talk about life and other situations. It’s pretty cool they care about that stuff. It’s definitely refreshing to know that if I chose to go there they would care about my personal interests.”

Hopefully this helps us win this battle. I'd want him or Cornwell for this class.

Said on twitter he has a decision date now after a long talk with his parents and coach. Didn't he visit here this weekend?

Man it would be awesome to get him so early but who fits this offense better? Cornwell or barker?

Not only has this staff said repeatedly that they can alter their offense to play to the strengths of the QB, they showed at UC that they could do that by having success with both a pocket passer and a scrambler. If there is a top 10 QB that wants to commit I don't think anyone should be splitting hairs over it. This staff showed at Cincy that they could get the most out of their QB talent regardless of where the strengths of that QB may lie.

South Carolina has a pretty sizable lead, but he's interested in Tennessee and knows some of the commitments like Todd Kelly. I think the staff likes Barker, and if even they do push, I don't expect a commitment or anything like that.

They have a few quarterbacks they really like right now.
