'14 MD LB Jerome Dews (UT Commit 6/24)

I would have a hard time not telling UT to go screw themselves if I was Dews. Just the way I would feel.

I'll admit I don't like it one bit. Not much we can do though. It is what it is.

Obviously any recruits in the future who are asked to wait, GS, or whatever will have something to look back at and not in a good way.

The big thing for me would be my pride. It is good they are letting him know now instead of later and stuff. But, no way would I go back to a school who did that to me regardless of the reasons. It is a thing where you might burn me once but if I let it happen again, then it's on me. I don't blame the kid whatever he does. Hope he balls out because he and his parents deserve it. You can tell they are good people.

I would say its the nature of the beast and part of the politics of recruiting, no hard feelings from us, a little disappointed but no hard feelings, if that was his only option then that's a different story, we have been contacted by about 7 more schools since Monday, so its not as bad as it seems, and im sure this is one of many phases in recruiting process.

MDO, you are setting a fine example. Thanks for the class!

Please keep us posted on how he is doing.

3 of them haven't played a down, but I think we will soon be considered "stacked" at safety.
Competition makes one better, so i would let the coaches and the players worry about the numbers the best ball players will play, so as a parent and a fan the coaches will put the best player on the field!

Probably right but I thought MDO had said he was hoping that Jerome would talk with the coaches and get a better idea of things.

I may have got it wrong, but the telling thing to me was MDO saying Jerome had not heard from the UT coaches for a while. When a recruit has not heard from a coaching staff, it usually means they have moved on.

Sorry to hear about all this....From what ive read JD has done all that was asked of him.On the good side im glad he has other offers . I want every player to get on the field somewhere. They have worked to hard for years to get to a college and never play. Good luck to you and I would have started looking elsewhere if I or my son were in your shoes.

Jerome had not had a lot of contact with Thig, and Thig recently told him that Tennessee's needs were not at the LEO spot any longer, but rather safety. He might possibly fit at safetby, but he was asked to look around, in case things don't work out for him and TN. They didn't want to leave him hanging, so they gave it to him straight.

Best for all parties. He doesn't need to end up here if he is going to be buried under the depth chart. Let's see how it plays out.
