'14 MD LB Jerome Dews (UT Commit 6/24)

I am late to this news as well. MDO , thank you for the class you show and have always shown. Best of luck to your family and your son. I know I speak for the majority of Vol fans when I say that I hate to see you all leave us, but wish you nothing but the best. Count me a Dews fan all the way. May God bless your family.

:good!:

MDO, please tell the Mrs. not to fret about the twidiots out there. They are the vocal minority and, thanks to social media, have a forum to unleash all kinds of unwarranted venom.

Otherwise, I hope the visit on Wednesday clears and patches things up. I am still going to hold out hope that this is only a temporary issue that clears itself up. Keep us posted on the progress in a couple days.

So I'd have to guess he had to have got a flat out NO from the UT coaches recently. I can't imagine he would de-commit knowing he will be there and speak to the coaches on Wednesday and could still possibly be considered a part of the 2015 class. Seems like an odd timeline.

...

Yeah I see they murdering my man on Twitter I told him stay his arse of twitter for now,, his momma bout to go bezerk because she dont understand how this works and how the fans go turncoat Jesse, you know how mommas are with there babies, he should have never got his azz on there, but thats the way the wind blows

I've noticed twitter seems to have more teenagers and 20 something year olds posting on their medium. May have something to do with it. As bad as we all get on each others nerves in here, I don't see anything as bad as I see on twitter. Could be wrong. Just my take.

Here is my take

Mr. Dews and Jerome are class acts and we should and will follow them and support them wherever they land.

Last year some on here said Jerome was a reach - perhaps -but I looked at how big his dad was and how young he was and knew he could grow into something special. I am not saying he will be playing in the NFL one day - but he will grow into a really good college football player imo.

His current size is a little of a challenge - he is somewhat of a tweener it would appear -- is he a strong safety, a linebacker or a defensive end.

Wishing him much future success -

I've heard only good things about Dews, so I hope things work out for us. Not to seem flip, but if he decides to go elsewhere, I think he will look back and see himself well served by his association with UT. He wasn't really on the radar screen, but now he is.

Ditto...your family has been nothing but class and handled everything as right as could be handled..I'm all Butch as usual, and a big fan of Thig...but it seems like this was a numbers brush off...this staff has been great at recruiting it's already committed players...lot of us don't like how this was done IMO

As tough as it is- butch's primary job is to win us games and championships, the best way he knows how.

That being said- many of us will follow and support Dews wherever he goes. Best of luck Jerome, Vol Nation is still rooting for u!

Posts a lot like him.. Leb has been posting like it's his job lately tho.

That's the truth!! I wonder when some of these posters get sleep. It seems like they are on here 24 hours a day arguing about something.

Btw, good luck MDO! Don't be a stranger.

Was Dews counting against the '14 numbers or '15 numbers? Coaches put Dews in Atlanta Prep and then just cut off communication? Will be interesting to see what comes of Dews being on campus tomorrow...

He did not count at all. He never signed anything in 2014, and was not showing as a commitment on any of the services for 2015.

Thigpen happened, That did escelate quickly, whatever Jerome felt about Coach Thigpen obviously wasnt right, I told him this is ultimatley his decision, he said he felt he had no relationship with Coach Thigpen, and he was not communicating with him, so we will see where this goes from here, now im confused, teenagers! I cant do anything but support his decision, and hope he made the right one, while I dont always agree with him I have to support him, so we will see.

You've been one of the top posters to this forum and have remained very level headed throughout the recruiting process. Jerome is very lucky to have your guidance. Whether he ends up a Vol or not, I will be rooting for him to have a healthy and successful college experience! :salute:
