Skeeter has got some things right, but he's also missed on several occasions since I've been here.

CP was probably Skeet's biggest call since I was here and I was a lurker back then.

skeeter knows what the coaches know/feel about a recruit so if the coaches think they have him locked up, like wright and bell, then of course skeets info will be off. how hard is it to understand that? its been stated countless times. hell even a national recruiting pundit sent out a big tweet announcing bell was a vol that day. u gotta remember how the fluidity of an 18 year olds mind and how hard it is for anyone, even their own parents to pinpoint what theyre gonna do is always in play

Skeet has had some good calls (he broke the Nate Peterman commitment), but he has also had some 3 amigos-esque moments as well (DJ Humphries and Tee).

They are as good as the people telling them the information. I can't get mad at a mole that provides info. These debates are stupid and degrading for skeeter and OCI. I like the info, so I want them to stay. If you don't like it, ignore them.

just take the info as you want. No one is forcing you to believe anyone

no need to rehash this in a recruit's thread that many people are following

It's your right as an American to choose or not to choose. The information should be taken with a grain of salt like most analysts.

Agreed - if everyone would simple go with it appears likely that Scott will be a Vol and then we will find out for sure on Monday. As detailed above - recruits sometimes tell coaches what they want to hear - will tell multiple staffs that they are coming, etc. Skeeter isn't the Amazing Kreskin -- he relays what the coaching staff tells him. Great information to have - but can and has proven to be wrong when a recruit flip - flops. I love what Skeeter and OCI bring - and am smart enough to understand that it includes no guarantees.

Anyone else hoping Derrell uses this in-home tonight to tell Steve face to face that he will be beating him on Saturday's during the fall wearing Orange and White?

He will probably tell the OLD ball coach that he will let everyone know his decision on Monday and thank him for dropping by. On Monday he'll say Vols, GBO and VFL!

Skeet is solid as it gets for inside info, take it or leave it. I've been following the guy before he came over to VN and he is pretty well connected. LWS and him are about as good as you'll get for insider info and LWS generally doesn't make many statement on the recruiting side of things.

Exactly but for new posters that ask about others here they need to hear the truth.

And the real truth is the only real insider we have is 74 at the moment.

Others bring great info and make very good predications but that is about all it amounts to

The same people that don't understand this very basic concept are also the ones who overreact when a big time recruit doesn't choose UT.

I see it all the time on here...if a highly rated kid has UT in his top group but in the end he chooses another school, these posters will say things like, "He was never coming here!", "I don't know why you guys get your hopes up, it was never happening!", "It was a pipedream!".

Meanwhile, the recruit had UT listed in his top group for months, made multiple visits, VQ/Scout/247 mods wrote article after article on their interest level in UT, gave quotes as to how much he liked the staff, school, fans, etc...but in the end he just chose somewhere else. That doesn't mean it wasn't a possibility that he would choose UT. It wasn't a pipe dream. You can't win them all, it's recruiting. JMO

I do consider Vol74 "the truth" as well. Skeeter I consider very good, but not quite "the truth." Just my assessment.
