Gang Busters was an old radio serial that started in the late '30s. The opening of the show had sound effects of sirens, machine guns, and screeching tires, and the dramatic opening inspired the phrase "coming on like Gang Busters." Essentially, it means something that starts with excitement or dramatic flair.

I don't know why Skeeter even does it anymore. Scott could change his mind between now and Monday, and everyone will be like Skeeter WRONG AGAIN!. Even if Scott does pick Tennessee everyone is going to be like well he is just speculating like the rest of us. It is a no win for him.

Yes, but his information has been the most reliable, even when he is wrong. He is more or less a primary source for recruiting info in my eyes.

It could be our last new boom of this recruiting class, I want my last boom to be my greatest.

Agreed. Recruiting is fluid. Most people don't understand that. UT can lead one day and then another school can lead the next. However, once he or others share that UT leads, it's taken as unchangeable fact. When things can change. Even coaches get played by some of these recruits unfortunately.

Seems to know more things than just info related to Hurd and friends close to him. But I'm not going to argue about it, as I hope he/she stays on this board and continues to deliver us the goods.

I don't see what's so hard to understand about this. He works in the athletic department and hears what the coaches and staff around him do. Like any job, situations are fluid and can change on the dime. Coaches get blindsided by kids all of them time. See Davonte Lambert as a recent example. The entire day, both staffs thought they had him. Sometimes, there is no way of knowing unless you are surgically implanted into a kid's brain. Even then it would be a big question mark when it comes to 18-22 year old kids.

I don't doubt for a minute Scott may have told UT he's going to commit but with these kids nothing is 100%...particularly when Spurrier and friends are coming in tonight. I hope he stays with the Vols but I'd put your boomage in your pocket until the announcement date or you could be in for a letdown. Hoping not....

Continue to repeat? When did I mention Skeeter before exactly? I was simply stating the obvious. Skeeter may work in the AD but he is no more accurate then anyone else. No shame in that. I personally don't think his information carries anymore weight then anyone else's that follows recruiting objectively and has the slightest bit of discernment.

Exactly who asked you to jump for joy?? If you don't believe him nobody cares. It's when people keep rehashing the same argument over and over again that gets tiresome. Some folks believe the info and some don't, which is fine. I always take a wait and see approach so it doesn't even matter to me if they are right or not, because I take everything with a grain of salt and know that kids change their minds.

Wasn't arguing about it. Just said its not coach Z. 74 main info is rooted in Nashville mid state area. Lambert was a one off that wasn't in state but Hurd has direct contact to this class so it would make sense that he would know that info. Either way 74 has been the most legit poster I have seen in years
