From the above update video it seems Scott has been doing everything UT would want from an Incoming freshman; working out and staying out of trouble. He gained 10 lbs of pure muscle since his hs season ended . He could be 195-200 lbs come fall. Kid is real respectful, seemingly grounded/mature and overall seems like a hell of a land for Butch. Kid seems driven and said he wants to play immediately.

I like this eval from Scout:

"Scott is a threat to go the distance every time he touches the ball. His quick feet and great vision make him a nightmare for defenders in the open field. Scott runs well inside the tackles and on the perimeter. He shows great balance and is an instinctive runner. Scott also catches the ball well out of the backfield. Overall, he is one of the most dynamic playmakers in the country. - Michael Clark"

I feel really good about our RBs. Lane, Hurd and Scott. IMO no way Scott red shirts baring injury in fall practice. I think Scott will show up to UT in good shape, driven and ultimately will be too good to keep off the field. Scott and Hurd could be a dynamic duo for the next few years. Expecting big things from both.

I can't wait to have a legit SEC RB competition on the hill again. This August Lane, Hurd, Young, Scott and Paulk will be battling for carries. That's an SEC RB roster. And next fall we'll lose Lane and Young but add Reid and at least one other top shelf RB. Thank you, Butch Jones.

Is Paulk gonna be ready to go?

Is Paulk gonna be ready to go?

He seems pretty focused but it will all depend on how he handles getting back out there. Making the cuts and taking contact can be different than lifting and getting your strength back. I hope he is ready both physically and mentally because our RB stable would be ridiculous this fall if he is.

So anyway, this kid can cut like crazy. I get giddy when I watch his senior highlights. I can't wait to see our running game this year.

I see no reason why we don't redshirt Paulk. Gives him an extra year to recover, more experiance in the system, he'll step in and contribute once Lane leaves

I think physically, yes, he'll be ready. Not sure on how he'll do mentally, as that seems to be the challenge coming off ACL surgery. We'll find out soon.

I think he'll get the Maggitt treatment, redshirt and don't risk it. Lane Hurd and Scott would be a great trio.

It's amazing how CBJ has been able to completely change our RB situation for the better in only one full recruiting cycle.
