SIAP, but when is Scott gonna announce his school of choice?

Looked at his profile and he has one helluva an offer list.

Apparently Michael Clark, recruiting analyst for scout, said someone close to Scott told him this morning that UT leads but it's close.

Boooom

You guys are going to excited by something Scout writers reported? Scott's mom wants him to stay close to home. That keeps South Carolina in the forferont.

Well considering they interviewed the guy and probably asked him who was leading I'm going to go with them over your speculation until we get any more info from a recruiting site or from Scott himself. JMO

Plus the fact that Knoxville is not much further away.

Plus the fact that Knoxville is not far away at all.

Neither school is really all that close to his town. 7 hours to Knoxville compared to almost 5 hours to Columbia. I don't really see that being that big of a negative for UT.

Nice. I thought we were well out of this since like a month after I made the thread

Why are people discrediting scout writers? Their rankings are horrible, but their info is usually pretty solid.

Close to home means NC St. Columbia is quite a drive from his place.

"Many have asked about Darrell Scott and Tennessee is very much alive in that one. We continue to believe that right now it's a 50/50 race between the Vols and South Carolina and both staffs will be on hand this weekend for Scott's state championship game as Havelock will go for its third straight state championship.

While certainly Scott and former teammate Kendal Vickers are friends, Scott is especially close to South Carolina wide receiver Pharoh Cooper and having Cooper in Garnett and Black certainly is helping the Gamecocks right now.

If Tennessee doesn't land another back in this class of that caliber, and for the record it looks as though D.J. Law just won't make the cut academically, don't look for the Vols to reach as they will save that spot for 2015."

SN: Man, how hard is it just to pass HS. All you have to do is basically show up. I played 3 sports in school, and did golf whenever I could, and still graduated with honors. To be honest, I really didn't even try too hard either.

Granted, I'm not in the kid's shoes and don't know what he's got going on in his personal life, but C'mon Man.

Apologies for the rant.

Tri,

Qualifying isn't as easy as you suggest. Take an average hs student and if that kid struggles as a test taker there will be issues. It's no shame being a borderline qualifier IMO.

IMO a decent % of hs football players are very borderline when it comes to ACT scores.

I moved to Charlotte last year :)

Not sad for a moment that my parents are stuck in half a foot of snow lol

Always good to have another Vol in CLT. Been in South Charlotte since 2004 and love it here. Welcome back to the South.

The problem with many hs student athletes is they are athlete first and don't even want to attend class. The only important things are football. I phone with music, Nike shoes, and the chick on his arm. No wonder they are borderline. It wasn't that much different back n the 40s and 50s, except that many of the rural football player knew they were going to be farmers and they felt a if they did not need an education to be a farmer.
