'14 OH TE/DE Ethan Wolf (UT Commit 4/10/13)

Wolf Absolutely MAULS DEs.

He looks every bit as Physical as Cam Clear did. WOW that is Awesome

I like reading these types of posts from you Jay...I know you don't blow smoke and tell it like it is. :good!:

Yeah his film is sick.. Im surprised how well he moves for someone so big and physical.

His ability to excel as both a blocker and a receiver along with his athleticism is what separates him from most D-1 TE prospects. Not only is he a monster in the trenches but he can really move for his size.

Maybe Jones should start accepting bricks from all the guys that commit and the ones already committed and after they sign he can take everyone of those bricks with each commits message on it and on signing day go buy some morter and make a big power T out of them display it somewhere at the facility and it could say "foundation for the future", or something like that. With this being his first class that is really his, I think it could be cool.

For those that haven't seen his film. It's very impressive.

That's a pretty sick idea, I'd like to see something like that for sure.

*Disclaminer* I'm not trying to start a position switch debate by any means, just mentioning what I read on ESPN in his evaluation.

I know its ESPN so tifwiw, but at his current size if he keeps growing to say 6'8 and adds more weight does his blocking and athleticism make him an option at tackle someday? Say we can land a couple guys like Milan and Helm, I'm just wondering if this is something to think about down the line possibly.

Personally, I think we need his talent at the TE position, I think he could/will be a monster. But he can't control his height and I think his skills could project well in the event he isn't done growing.

As he continues to develop physically and as a player, he will likely contribute best as a blocker and a move to tackle could be possible, but a good set of hands on the big target will likely keep him at tight end. He demonstrates good ability to consistently extend for the ball and catch it away from his body. Can attack the ball at its highest point and flashes the ability to use his frame to shield defenders. Displays solid speed for his size and after the catch will fight for yards, but displays adequate ability to pull away from or elude defenders. Wolf is a kid with good size and room to add more. With that size and good pair of hands he can be a tight end who can help an offense move the chains as both a blocker and pass catcher.

He has the size and skill set to make the switch, I think. The question is whether the staff wants to move him or not.

It seems like they sold him on being a playmaker and a blocker, so I'm going to guess that the only way we see him line up at tackle is if he's a horrendous failure at TE (which not many see happening) or if we have an unbelievable string of injuries.

I agree that they are 100% recruiting him at TE. I'm just wondering if his skill set would even project well there in the event he gained some more height and weight and outgrew the position. But like I said, I do hope he sticks at TE because he looks to be a versatile player that could provide a big mismatch if used in all the ways they keep mentioning.

Wow! First time watching his film...he is highly athletic. He is gonna kill in this off. imo.

A buddy of mine said he and his entire family showed up decked out in Orange, they didnt expect him to commit but as soon as they saw that they knew he was a Vol, then he pulled out his brick he made. So cool, and the BrickByBrick thing was a great idea!

Or start spelling out "championship" with the bricks from the different classes,. U know, because that's what they're building towards..
