'14 TN DB Rashaan Gaulden (UT Signee 2/5/14)

I think #29 is the best prospect we signed on defense last year potential wise. Hope he takes the CB spot and runs with it.

The beautiful thing is we should soon be to the point that we can plug in 2 strings of guys with little drop off. We've seen entire seasons come undone with an injury or two. (Bray & Hunter). Within 3 years, we will be stocked, barring some horrific sanctions or being Kiffined

You would think but I've seen people say he was told/wants to play on offense... Not sure which, if any, is true... With his speed, he could be a weapon at a number of positions

It's already been reported that Evan is working at Corner. Elliot has been working at Nickel & Safety.

Good info Sugar Vol... I had not seen anything on that...
I would love for Elliot to RS and hit the weight room and get to 220 and play LB... He would be a STUD AT OLB with Bates as the other OLB... It would be damn near impossible to get to the edge with those 2 on the outside

It's gonna feel so good to expect to WIN every game again like I did when I was a kid.

I never stopped expecting that...it makes me sad that I have learned not to be upset by the losses.

I need to unlearn that! Help me CBJ, help me! :)

Even if neither starts, I'm not expecting either Berry to redshirt. Both appear physically ready to play and have great football intelligence.

At the very least, I expect them to play on our special teams and provide depth on defense. Both could end up being just one injury away from having to start.

I expect them to play special teams, and play well... I would just prefer Elliot redshirt and bulk up to LB size, but I'm also saying this without seeing him play down of practice football, much less a real game... I just think he could be a real game changer at the LB spot and with some of our DB prospects,I think they could do just as well,if not better at safety... or get Cortez to LB size and leave Eliot at safety... Either one could be a real weapon at either the LB or S position... add in Bates at LB and TK2 at the other S,there are 4 legit studs on paper at 4 very important positions... those positions can eliminate mistakes by other positions..I guess over the next 2 seasons we will see how CBJ plays it...

I love your take on our defensive prospects. Thanks for what you bring to this board.

Which committed defensive prospect excites you most from '15 class, outside of McKenzie?
