"i think it helped [tennessee]," kelly told 247sports. "it was good because i got to spend time with the coaches. I hadn't met the entire staff until saturday. It gave me a better look at tennessee. I didn't know what the coaching staff was going to be like. I know they come and go and that shouldn't be the deciding factor, but it is important because i'd be around them a lot."

"it was exciting," kelly said. "i sat with coach [willie] martinez, the db coach. I really liked it. They did the harlem shake. They had a former basketball player, tobias harris, in the middle of it. He's in the nba. When the beat dropped, they all went crazy. I liked the game. I saw the atmosphere and it was similar to being at a football game. Vols fans definitely love all their sports. They're really dedicated."
on new vols coach butch jones.
"we were in his office -- my parents and me -- for about an hour," kelly said. "it was a pretty good talk. It wasn't all about football. We enjoyed that time. My mom likes to ask a lot of questions. She got all her questions answered. My dad does the athletics, and she does the academics. [jones] talked about how the future is going to look, and what they're trying to do to turn it around and get back to winning games."

"we were communicating back and forth, and he ended up staying with me since i live in knoxville," kelly said. "we spent time with each other, talking. We got a feel for each other. We're actually very similar in personalities. He's laid back and takes in everything. We're getting pretty close. My mom, his grandmother and his mom talked a lot the whole time. We're not sure if we'll play together in college or not. It could be a possibility. It's not a deciding factor but it could be a cool thing."
