'14 TN DB Todd Kelly Jr. (UT Signee 2/5/14)

As a Retired Marine and the father of a Marine I can tell y'all right now..... and in no uncertain terms..........there is no debate. Any questions?

Oooorah and Semper Fi :hi:

Thank you for serving our country, sir. Being incapable to do it because of a disability, its a honor to meet true military men.

Tennessee Top100 safety commit Todd Kelly showed he has cover skills, checking the best receivers in attendance. The future U.S. Army All-American had several pass breakups and was the best defensive back on day one.

One thing I don't get about recruiting rankings...they deduct points from all the guys out of tn because the dont respect the highschool programs here. I makes no sense to me because talent is talent. That's what you'd think they'd base their rankings on. Simply put, jalen Hurd would be no bigger, stronger, or faster if he played elsewhere, yet he would be ranked higher if that was the case.

It makes sense. Think of all the physical freaks that have come out of HS and been busts at the next level. They took advantage of the competition they played. The highlight film looks a lot better than if they were playing against equal or better talent. There are many, many examples of this very point.

I completely understand the services docking points to recruits because of their competition. It is a valid point, and it helps cover their a** down the road.

agree completely - that being said - HS football in TN is certainly trending upward so that dock may be less necessary over the coming years

Agreed. The talent in the mid-state is definitely on the rise. East TN talent is hit-or-miss. West TN football is not good outside of Memphis and the Memphis area.

Good luck to him. Will pray for his safe return. I have had a lot of students through the years that were prior Army. We enjoy picking at each other. Inter service rivalry and all. Really more like brotherly love.

My son was Medically discharged on June 29th and is now listed amongst the disabled vets. He will collect a disability check the rest of his life. He was pissed that they discharged him..........that is a Marine for you though.

Football University FBU Top Gun: Friday Standouts

2. Todd Kelly Jr., S, Knoxville (Tenn.) Webb – Kelly has bulked up over the last year, adding ten pounds of muscle and he has the look of an alley defender that can really change games. Kelly looks college ready in his ability to get out of his backpedal and drive downhill on receivers and ball carriers.
