Would love to see us pull Adoree and Barnett.

Adoree would make this the best db haul I can remember. Jackson- top 10 guy, Kelly- top 65 guy, Payne and McDowell- top 250 guys, gaulden- 4 star, is he a top 250 guy now too? Can't remember. Plus the berrys? Dear god..... Throw in guys who could play both sides like Wharton and Powell and that's just plain nasty.

Only mini-issue with Jackson is his new bent on being a receiver at the next level...as a db you move whatever needs moving to add him...as a receiver...move on...jmo.

This kid is the type of ball player that you do whatever it takes to get him on campus and let the chips fall where they may. With the receiver talent we are bringing in if he sees the field there then he's a pretty good wideout. If he gets buried on the depth chart then he makes the move to WR. Look at Anthony Barr for example, chose UCLA over his dads alma mater because they were giving him a shot on the offensive side of the ball as opposed to LB. He is now is now one of the top OLB in the country

Size-Strength-Speed
Very explosive player. Lacks ideal height and length, but well built and still has very good size at the position and plays bigger on film. Shows good acceleration closing on the ball and has good overall pursuit speed.

Instincts/Recognition
Excels as a zone defender reading, reacting and playing ball to man. Quick to get off the mark and close on the football. Anticipates well and times his break accurately.

Coverage Skills
At his best coming forward out of pedal breaking underneath in coverage. Good balance and body control transitioning out of breaks. Stays low in backpedal for the most part. Explodes off back foot and closes strong with impressive burst when facing the ball. Changes direction sharply out of breaks. Shows flashes of being an explosive hitter and a physical presence around the ball. Shows he can get off the hash on top of routes as well and has good deep coverage range as well as ball skills. Does a good job covering the deep middle as well and supporting as free safety.

Run Support
Displays the range to get downhill quickly and support the run. Runs the alley with sharp angles and will still set the edge from deep positioning. Makes the effort to show up at the point of attack and brings good physicality when he arrives. A collision tackler who can pop the ball loose and make jarring hits, but we would like to see more consistent wrap tackling as well. Low takedowns in the open field and while he is not the most fluid defending in space he is balanced and a reliable last line of defense.

Bottom Line
Kelly can run, close and hit for big production and momentum changing plays. Overall, is a well-rounded, scheme versatile prospect who could play strong or free safety at the next level depending on need. Has size, range athleticism and physicality that should make him highly coveted on the recruiting trail. Potentially a great contributor on special teams adding to his value.

He said CBJ gave him a choice:

1) focus on full time defense and part time offense.
2) focus on part time defense and full time offense.

He said he would prefer full time defense, part time offense. He feels he could benefit more from being a standout corner.

Not a better safety in this class. Buck Fitzgerald is a hater saying Gaulden is better. He's a big-time player in his own right but this kid may start early on in his career.

I don't see a slot WR in our class that would keep him off the field. Jackson is a killer athlete in space.
