Just wondered, has anyone seen anything from the candy staff about this commitment? I may have missed it but I figured there would be some crying by them. I loved it because he visited them then committed to us!

Really excited about this guy. I love disruptive, athletic big guys like Easley at Florida. I think Barnett fits that description and will be a force in the coming years.

Noticed that the Tennessean made no mention of Barnett's commitment, but took the effort to write a column about Jimmy Frank and his recruiting on the same day.

You must have just missed it...there was a nice write up on the back page of yesterday's sports page.

But yes, the stroking of JF in the Tennessean is getting old.

Dear Tennessean,

Contrary to what you may believe, the overwhelming majority of the population of Tennessee ARE NOT Vandy fans. Hell for that matter, The majority of the people in Nashville are not Vandy fans. To put the final nail in the coffin......The majority of the people sitting in the stadium at a Vanderbilt HOME GAME are not Vanderbilt fans.

We could really care less about what is happening at Vandy and do not wish to see articles about the antics of Little Jimmie Franklin.

Thanks in advance for removing any references to this second rate program and their whiny coach from any future articles.

The writing is on the wall for that program and ppl are finally seeing it. Apparently the Tennessean is not one of them.

Remember when he said he would own the state in recruiting? Lol

What do you expect to happen at Vandy? They are bottom feeders and most likely will always be bottom feeders. The Tennesseean has to cover being that they are based in Nashville, since advertisers want it. If they and everybody else over there would be honest they will acknowledge that JF is just passing through, building a resume of sorts. But they won't - they will pretend that he is the big dog and it will all change someday.
