I thought about just posting "LOL" and leave it at that but I'll write a short novel for the few of you guys that are prone to panic and believe Vandy mods. Let me start by repeating what I said Saturday night and that is Derek has never even met Mason. That's probably enough but I will give you more. Apparently, there was a rumor that Derek went over to Vandy on Sunday (yesterday). Derek's mom shot that down and said he did not go over there on Sunday. So, he didn't go Friday, he didn't go Saturday (he was at BA all afternnon and until around 9 Saturday night) and he didn't go over there Sunday. If he were considering Vandy, would you agree it would be a good idea to go over and meet the coaches that he's never met since signing day is Wednesday? Last week, the new D coordinator and another assistant came to BA to introduce themselves and just ask about prospects. They didn't even mention Derek. They have not called his mom. Derek is not just avoiding VQ, he isn't talking to ANY media. Mo Patton from the Tennessean has been trying to interview him and DB says no. It's not like he's talking to other sites and not VQ. The reason? 1. Butch suggested it and 2. He said, "I've never decommitted or taken any other visits. What is there to say?" My friend talked to his mom this morning and they talked about the plan for Wednesday. Derek has a UT hat (and no other hat!) that he is going to wear, etc. From everything I know, there just is NO drama on their end. No one reached out to him after he told Mizzou that he was not interested a week ago. I will say that every time anybody puts something out there, Butch is on the phone. He's not asleep at the wheel. He is absolutely on top of it every day. Regarding Sawyers, there is no problem between the 2 of them. He's just not best friends with him like he is with Rashaan. They don't dislike one another. Bruno Reagan reached out to Derek via Twitter and Derek started following him. My friend at BA called to congratulate Bruno on his commitment and told him that he was surprised that he hadn't tried to get DB over there this last weekend. Bruno told him that he did but that DB told him he was solid to TN. I don't read any Vandy sites, so please let me know if they come up with anything else. Did I miss any other "theories" out there?

Not to be the wet blanket here but Id like to state again that I don't think there is anything to the Derek Barnett stuff. Just don't want y'all to get overly excited about this one.

On the flip side. I have recently changed my Crystal Ball picks to Vandy for both Andrew Mike and Caleb Scott.

I also believe Vandy will end up taking a full or near full class. Signing Day should be good.

247 is being very generous because rivals thinks even worse of their class lol. they will have about eight 2-stars in a class where they might take near 20. thats a terrible percentage. not only are some of them 2 stars but some are 5.2 and 5.3 low 2 stars lol. If we finish with sawyers we will have a 3.6 avg star rating with over 30 kids in a class. thats damn impressive. vandy is going to finish with about a 2.5-2.7 avg star rating and thats with less than 20 or right at 20 kids.

looks alot like their classes before 2011-2012

The problem lies in their fan base believing each and every 2 star will magically transform into an NFL quality player. Pretty much is the Jordan Matthews Syndrome or JMS for short.

Yea, that's pretty stupid. The vandy faithful (lol at that) should be giving him a free pass on this year's class anyway. No need to add filler.

Yeah I want chicagodore to address this. Are all Vandy fans thinking they actually have a good class, like a couple have posted. Are they all really in such denial that they think they are still gonna be good? Do they all not realize Franklin was lightning in a bottle and they will never be good again? Do they deny that things are getting back to normal and did they all think UT would never be good again? Do they realize, that the wrath from UT's huge fanbase (which they are surrounded by) is now gonna be exponentially worse due to their smack talking the last 2 years?

Or was it just a few delusional Vandy fans thinking that BS?

Vandy fans will see this year how JF was not a great recruiter. He bailed right before he was going to have to play with his own players. I think they have an awful season with 100% his recruits.

They still think they have a team capable of competing in the SEC, while they have lost some of their best players (ACS, Matthews, etc.). They are ignorant to the fact that their program will take a huge step back next season. While we are upgrading in talent everywhere except the OL (who some argue will not be that much worse), they are downgrading. They beat us by 4 points last season. We had one of the worst teams in our history talent wise. They had one of their best, and if it wasn't for that one overturned 4th down play (which shouldn't of been overturned, but that's an argument for another time), they would have lost.

Aren't they losing some of their starters on the defensive side of the ball too?
