Vanderbilt is clearly superior to UT in academics. Anyone can find anecdotal evidence otherwise. I'll grant that there are several programs at UT that are better than Vanderbilt's respective programs.

Vanderbilt's overall superiority in academics is not debatable.

Buying into the-ratings-are-bunk excuses or pointing out personal evidences make us look butthurt.

Can't make that blanket statement about all majors.

Fail.

So there's been a study of undergrad athletes and their post college success, and Vandy was clearly higher?

You're lumping in a ton of assumptions and graduate programs into that assessment. They don't even have a business major for undergrads, and maybe 1% of hiring managers would prefer a Vandy grad to an mtsu grad. If you're looking to have a well rounded, liberal arts education or get into graduate school, then Vandy is clearly superior. If you want a job when you graduate because you won't be playing in the NFL, Vandy won't do you any favors beyond any other decent four year school.

You ask me for a study to prove a statement that I didn't even make. Then you provide your unstudied opinion and some made up statistics about MTSU versus Vanderbilt. MTSU? Your response is poor rhetoric.

All I am doing is trying to counter the idiocy of some of the comments in the forum. Vanderbilt is academically superior to UT. I am not saying that Vanderbilt offers better academic opportunities to student athletes; I don't care--I never attempted to address the point. Again, I am simply countering the blanket statement that UT is as good as Vanderbilt academically.

I wouldn't be surprised if Coach Jones saved one or two commits for the week after a bad loss to remind the fans to be patient.

Kiffin did this with Miller and Willis after the UCLA loss, and most fans seemed to forget the loss.. I hope it doesn't come to that.

I have a logistics degree from UT myself. We were top 4-5 when I was there.

Too funny. Hadnt said anything before but I also did a logistics concentration at UT and am studying for the bar now. I know at least one other guy who did the same.

You say you went to Louisville for law school?
