Tough to say. With him being as highly rated as he is and being in state, it would be tough to try and force his hand. I'm also not sure we have alot of other HS DT options if we have indeed told the other (3) HS DTs we were full. I'm not a big fan of holding spots if the kid is looking around. If it were me and another top HS DT wanted to commit, I'd take him and then see where we are when Barnett was ready to do something. Maybe we have room and maybe not. If we have Lambert and Mosley on board before the season starts, I think the coaches would have some leverage to force some quick decisions or move on.

Good post. From what I read here he is a guy we would have to keep a spot for until the end. It's a gamble but let's face it if CBJ is going to win big here he HAS to win nearly every battle like this one. Not some but darn near all!

No don't do this.

I didn't say me, you or anybody tweeting or message boarding. If someone close to Barnett isn't talking about every aspect, including this Vandy thing, they are doing him a disservice. If UT had something happen this weekend that put Butch at risk, I would say the same thing.
I wonder who is helping him through this process. His mom seems busy and works two jobs, so what do we assume about the father, or whomever is mentoring him. Maybe it's his HS coach. The scary thought is that franklin has tried to take a role of father figure here with Vandy being around the corner.

Would candy fans take the high road? For some reason I doubt it. Candy fans have always felt they are "better" when it comes to negative things in their sports programs. They take every chance they get to talk BS about our Vols. I have no issue dumping a truck load of STFU on them with what has taken place.

If that's the case, then you're ok bringing yourself down to their level?

Still for the life of me can't understand why Barnett likes Vandy.

CJF is feeding him a bunch of BS, IMO.

I really don't think a school administration would allow a teacher to "deck out" a classroom with gear from any college. They might let her have an object or two on her desk. To suggest that they let a teachers spouse come in and deck it out is beyond belief. Any thought that a UT fan would trade their season tickets for a Vandy sideline pass is laughable. This sounds like a BS story that a Vandy fan (possibly a teacher) dreamed up. Like I've said before, Franklin is a used car salesman and his piece of junk that he's selling (in his mind) is the best in the world. If Franklin said it then it's most likely a lie.

when is the last time you were in a high school classroom? I graduated from one of the bigger high schools in Tennessee and every teacher could (and did) deck their room out with anything they could possibly want. I don't think the school administration is one bit worried about an algebra teachers decorations influencing an athletes decision nor should they be.

Teachers can deck out their rooms in any color scheme that they want to. They can use a particular border or a particular item to be used to illustrate a main topic of discussion.

Some people here just like to stir the pot and argue to start trouble.

I'm sure they would categorize it as UP to their level...so yeah...let's IMPROVE ourselves

At my high school (been out 7 years) they could put absolutely anything they wanted, within reason. Didn't have to illustrate any points or discussion.

It's trash talking a rival. I don't have to bring myself down to their level. I make it a point to trash talk a candy fan any chance I get. If your looking for a reason to feel sorry for them, that's on you. You handle things your way, and I will do it my way. To HELL with candy!

I just hope you come at them with something better than "candy".

I actually got out of high school in the mid-1960's. I went to a school in the Knox County system and decorations and postings generally had to be related to the subject taught in the classroom. I didn't make many trips to classrooms when my children went to high school so don't remember much about them. From what I've read and heard about the present day schools I was of the belief that they were much stricter now than they were when I went. Apparently from what some of you have said the teachers are not restricted and can put up anything they want in a classroom.
Aside from the classroom decorations, can a college coach go into a high school classroom while recruiting even if there are athletes in the classroom that he is not allowed to come in contact with (bump rule)?

I remember one of my 5th grade teachers was a huge Vandy fan who had a blown up picture of two players tackling each other on the wall. The narration at the bottom was something about Vandy beating UT. I can't remember the year, but FWIW, the picture was in black and white. She didn't make any guesses as to which team she rooted for.

No, I can throw it out and chalk it up to the crazies when ANYONE posts such nonsensical drivel.

I can see that there's no point in arguing with you, as you think that someone not buying that BS story is just spouting nonsense.

Sounds to me like your the crazy here.

Shouldn't be hard to narrow down which year it was.

May have been 1982 when Whit Taylor was QB for Candy. Had a Vandy fan that was married into family that talked about that game for about 10 years. He felt all the losses after that didn't count and wouldn't talk about them, just wanted to talk about 1982. I kept telling him that Taylor had been gone for years and he needed to get with the present time. He hasn't mentioned last years game to me probably because he's seeing another 25 game losing streak staring him in the face.
