'14 TN RB/DB Daryl Rollins

ThisTE=KnoxVolFan89;9052551]DJ Campbell is the big 280 pound "jumbo athlete" it's crazy how he moves to be that size. His ball skills and instincts are great. Only thing I wonder is if he keeps putting on weight he will most likely end up with his hand on the ground in college. Imagine what that kid could do at 240-250 pounds OMG.[/QUOTE]

He is about three steps too slow right now to be a college LB. He also doesnt have the frame to play on the line in college. He is listed at 6' in the media guide but I guarantee that measurement was taken with cleats on.

I'd like to see him run at about 235. I think that's his "fighting weight" so-to-speak.

I was thinking more along the line of beefing him up to 295lbs and he could be a fierce DT.

I wouldnt mind taking a run at Rollins, Hawkins, Cooperwood, or Penny Smith, but our last few spots are valuable. I would like to see a walkon situation however.

Cooperwood apparently has a long ways to go academically, which is why he isn't getting more serious D1-A attention right now, from the information I am getting.

Smith is a very good athlete and a solid QB, but he's likely a D1-AA level prospect, according to the Fulton folks I talk to.

Michael Scates is the guy I am surprised isn't getting more D1-A attention. He's much more sound from a technique standpoint than is Cooperwood at this time, and at 6'5" and 290 he has the frame and bulk to play at that level.

Agree about Scates. Is he a senior? He is an intense blocker and seems to have the frame to put on more weight. He is also athletic enough to play on the DL. Any idea on his grades? I am just a little suspicious about kids from Fulton.

Yes, Scates is a senior and I am told that he is fine academically.

Is Scates the left guard? If so I agree with you. That's a big ole athletic boy. My neighbor was telling me last night that the Fulton QB committed to UT Chat Friday night after the game. Don't know if true or not. If so, I'm glad for the boy. Hell of a ball player, but a couple biscuits shy size wise to play major d-1.

Yes, Scates is the left guard, number 75.

Don't think Penny Smith has verbaled to anybody at this point.

Knoxville's Darryl Rollins (@rollinsboi5) led @FultonFootball tonight w/11 carries for 200 yards (18.2 avg), 3 TDs. Ran sub 4.4 in summer.

Don't know why Tux was comparing him to Devrin Young. He's a much better prospect. And our coaches won't offer a kid just to catch punts either(dumbest shxt I ever seen). I like this kid more than Powell or the Berrios kid they're clamoring about.

Agree on all counts besides Devrin. I think we'll see him fit in our new offense.

He's never gonna be great or anything like that, but I think we can both agree the Dooley staff misused him.

I don't know, he went down so easy that I have no faith in him even in open field. The last coaching staff just was an epic fail and had other options that same year that would've fit this league better(Ameer Abdullah and Andrew Buie are two immediately that come to mind).

Offer Rollins ASAP.. I just have an orange on for him I guess lol. I really think he could do big things in our offense. Look at Jeff Scott last night, probably similar size. This guy is pretty impressive IMO
