NO one was as quick as DY good comparison. Hawkins is faster straight ahead than DY in high school. Hawkins doesn't touch ball a fraction of what DY did in high school.

How do you know that Hawkins is faster than Young?????. You can find 100m times on DY all over the internet. High school and JR. Olympic. But there is very little info about Hawkins's track times.

Missed on local kid (DB) Ty Hayworth who is starting @ Wake as a redshirt Freshmen.... Stud

I hope this kid's recruitment doesn't turn into another Randall Cobb deal. I would love to see the local kids get a shot.

I understand it is a tough thing to determine. Just have to trust the coaches choice.... But would love to have him.

Most underrated player in East Tenn. Plays at Knox Fulton watched him against Powell, Farragut and Central kid can FLAT ball. Not sure how a major college can't see how he could help them. He has crazy speed and VERY good with the ball in his hand. Doesn't look tall but who cares he makes big boy plays.

Watch his highlight reel again and just pay attention to the guys covering him. The competition level is what makes him look good. He is rated right where he should be IMO

Why do these threads about kids UT will never recruit keep popping up. I am sure there are better venues to discuss the performance of kids who will play in the SOCON.
You have locals posting them and hope that it gets traction and gets the attention of someone on the staff.

The coaches know about these kids. There is a reason why UT has not offered them.

I agree. This kid seems like he can play, but it doesn't really seem like the competition is very stiff in whatever division they play in. He has good vision, and he's fast, but he dances a lot. He reminds me of a shifty little Dexter McCluster. I'd say we'd mainly use him in the slot or in the return game, but I think we've got both of those areas pretty well covered now.

Ya, my old high school played in Fulton's division. Competition is pretty weak to say the least.

Every under the radar recruit will be the next Randall Cobb. We should have Freak create a thread titled "Hope we dont pass on recruit "x" like Randall Cobb".

Just because you make up numbers and place them in a spreadsheet does not tell me anything. When I goto the Jr Olympic website and type in Xavier Hawkins nothing comes up, but you do find all Devrins times.

Who's this Patrick guy and does he play football?

Yes patrick Taylor does play football but he is more of a track athlete and excellent long jumper. You can also find Patrick on the JR Olympic website. USATF and AAU. You are showing the TSSAA times which are clocked on a different timing system. That's why those times are not recognized by the IAAF. Like I said Hawkins has never ran track on a national scene

When I say athlete it means it means all around: offense, defense, punt and kick return etc. Of course TK is better at safety, and has bigger size thats why he is a 4*. Not hating on the kid at all I'm glad he is gonna be a Vol for the next 4 years.
