Seems like the guidance counselor dropped the ball and should have figured out his academic status earlier.

If the kid was interested in Alabama this would not be an issue. But I sense from your post that you have never been to Elmore County.

A heavy workload is not an excuse for poor performance.

My son went to a small private high school in Nashville affiliated with a University in town. His "guidance" counselor didn't have a clue about the Core classes GPA and other requirements for a D1 scholarship eligibility. I had to educate her on what classes he needed to take his last semester.

I just wonder if it because he is from Nigeria. It sounded like last semester was his first here in the US, and so he probably had to take a lot of tests about where his education stacked up against ours. They may have just gotten the results/approval back to reclassify him. maybe before he didn't want to move up a grade, but now he does.

there could be any number of reasons for this to have just happened, most of them no fault of anyone.

Right, we give a person an insane workload that 2 people would be hard pressed to handle and then blame the person for struggling to do it. Just one of many problems with our public education system. Sorry, for the off-topic posts. I'll hold my tongue from here out.

Will visit LSU this weekend and has set up an official to Auburn for the weekend of the 30th. If he signs on signing day, his only free weekend is the 23rd. That is what is being reported on our 24/7 site

Earlier today I heard on local sports talk that he is being swamped with visits at school yesterday and today. Alabama was in to see him yesterday, UF, Georgia and Chizik from UNC today.

Volssam, I saw Catbone said that you are going to Disney...when are you going? My family and I are leaving Sunday and heading down for the whole week.

We went in October for our daughter's first trip. It was a blast. If you can swing it, take yours to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for a princess make over. Well worth it.
