Has there been a more recent update since you posted this one?

“Brandon is not here at this time. He continues to not take calls and continues to not discuss his options/plans publicly.

People close to him still believe that he wants to go to Tennessee. So the waiting game continues.”

That doesn’t sound like Hubbs is saying it’s happening

The SEC rule change eliminated the "sit a year" requirement when transferring within the SEC. The NCAA rule change will eliminate a school's ability to block a grad transfer from transferring to certain schools. That won't help Brandon Kennedy, who needs to enroll at his new school this summer.

To answer Saban's question, "Why is it on me? Why is it on me? Why is it on me?": It's on him because on May 3, Alabama issued a letter officially blocking Kennedy from being contacted by, hence transferring to, any SEC school plus seven OOC schools that Alabama will play in the next two years.

Saban flat-out lied when he said he released Kennedy to transfer anywhere. He didn't and Kennedy can't, because Alabama has placed restrictions on his transfer under the NCAA bylaws currently in effect. So Kennedy appealed the restrictions under existing NCAA bylaws and Alabama denied his appeal. Bama has refused to remove the block and refused to comment further on the situation.

If Kennedy appealed the restriction under the NCAA bylaws, how does Alabama get to approve or deny anything? Should it not go to the NCAA HQ for approval or denial. I mean, I know Nick has folks by the short and curlies, but surely he isn't allowed to be this open about it. All the NCAA has to do is approve his request to transfer wherever the heck he wants and tell Saban to quit blocking grad transfers. I don't see what the problem is.

Not yelling at you LA, just confused and ticked off that this is happening yet again to another player from AL. Nick needs to be put in his dang place.

Because Kennedy was technically under a "contract" the Alabama appeals board for this upheld that he was not allowed to transfer within the SEC and also blocked his ability to communicate to anyone within the SEC plus 7 other teams.

This was after Saban had already said he had a release.

Basically Kennedy appealed to Alabama his next step is to appeal to the NCAA. Which might be the hold up. The NCAA has to approve of Kennedy leaving Alabama and it could already be to them awaiting a ruling.

I'm sure there is a lot going on behind the scenes that we're not privy to.

Definitely agreed. Probably the reason for so much hush hush. I am sure Alabama doesn't want another PR nightmare and asked all parties involved to handle this situation civilly within the realms of the NCAA. Hence the silence.

Brubear is a contrarian troll...it is humerous that you havent figured that out yet. He will NEVER acknowledge the right of anything once he fugures out whatever the contrarian view of a situation is, and you will just keep bashing your head on that stupid wall till your brains fall out.

When a player signs an NLI, they are agreeing to attend a school and participate in that sport for 2 full semesters or Fall and Spring before they can transfer. Do they re-sign each year to receive their scholarship? If so, those agreements should be met at the end of the spring semester and the player should no longer be under "contract" and should be free to transfer. Throw in the fact that Kennedy graduated and he should be doubly free to do whatever the heck he wants.

P.S. - I know this is not the case, but I don't see why it isn't.

Not contrarian on this topic. I was just on the side of the truth regarding the op and his lack of understanding. hell he posted that since he graduated everyone could contact the kid. Poor guy had no clue

How come when certain posters type “lol”, I fear for the safety of their neighbors pets?

I am not 100% positive I think the biggest issue is that he attended graduate classes and attend the spring practice sessions with Alabama. I think that put him in a weird predicament.

Butchna can probably clarify.
