I think people are sleeping on Florida's talent level a bit and their D still has the potential to be the best in the East. Collins runs the exact same multiple 3-4 defense that Muschamp ran and they are returning what is probably the best secondary in the SEC. Front 7 lost a big playmaker in Fowler, but they still have a stout LB core and a solid DL.

Their roster is still chalked full of 4 and 5 star players on both sides of the ball. If McIlwain can get any kind of offense going, I think they could challenge for 3rd place in the East.

Having said that, they are likely going to struggle mightly with a very young OL to start the year. They will probably have a true freshman(Ivey) at LT and a D-1AA transfer starting beside a lot of question marks. Hopefully they will still be a mess when we go to Gainesville and Barnett will break Grier in half.

McIlwain certainly inhereted a much better situation than Butch when he took over.

This is one thing that bothers me. That the players and fans will underestimate Florida, especially if we beat OU in Neyland. I will not be convinced that we can beat Florida until Butch shows he can do it. At this point he has not shown the ability to do so. I wait patiently.

I have my moments with a select few but thats just msg board in general.

After 5+ yrs I try to bring what info I can. Some care for it and others could care less.

Yeah I like HG. He's cool.

As for the Gators, I just don't see how they win many games with a new coach and system and even more question marks on what was already one of the worst offenses in the conference the last couple of years. I just don't see a lot of guaranteed W's on that schedule.

Nmst, Vandy and FAU are wins

Ecu, SC and KY are likely wins. A loss to one of these teams is just as likely as your "upset"

Mizz, UT, UGA, LSU, FSU and Ole Miss you'll lose.

5-7 wins is a solid range for florida.

Florida wins 6-7 games. They still have elite talent on defense and special teams. The only thing that really concerns me is the players adjusting to McElwain's new system. I still see them losing to Tennessee but I'm not sold on it 100% yet before I see it.

UF smoked UGA last year as well. And Mizzou recruits like crap. There is going to be a year where Mizzou drops off. Florida's defense will keep them close in a lot of games.

They'll leave that defense out to dry. This new DC is blitz happy too. So we'll see how this goes. That secondary the best in the country though. Quincy Wilson is about to be a star at CB.

If Collins stays away from that crazy rotation crap we'll be a top 25 unit.


Crazy thing is Tabor and Wilson were gettin backup reps bc JC was so damn beastly.

What is the status of JC Jackson?

If he is still on the team, he needs to see some offense. Let him at moonlight at CB for this season until VHIII leaves. Tabor and Wilson are outstanding talents on their own and can hold down that other spot.

JC can be dangerous in Jim and Doug's offense. Just 5 touches a game from him can lift that offense.

Then in 2016 you'd have
LCB- Jackson
RCB- Tabor
NB- Wilson

Nothing announced by UF but someone close told Pat Dooley he was headed to juco in KS with hopes of returning to UF next summer IF everything goes well with SAO.
