'15 CA QB Sheriron Jones (UT Signee 2/4/15)

Is there ANY chance JJ or Dormady is looking around? Or is this more of a needing 3 QBs because Peterman is transferring and Ferguson left? This is odd

Here's what makes sense to me. The coaches are confident enough in Dobbs as 1st string and JJ/QD to battle to be 2nd string and the "loser" redshirts.

Then you redshirt SJ. So you've got a JR, FR, and 2 RS FR. Ideal? I don't think so. But the staff must have confidence that the EEs can progress enough to play in the SEC as a backup role.
Or because of attrition (Ferguson leaving on his own and Peterman about to), they don't have any other choice?

Really hope we land this kid. Seems to have good accuracy. Seems like a good kid as well. But ultimately we need more DT type QBs for competition. I'd like to have him and Jennings but I'd be thrilled if we take all 3.

If he thinks he is better than what we have, then why not? Jennings can still play another position...

Win

I dont think it has anything to do with JJ or Dormady. This has more to do with peterman possibly leaving and them wanting 4 scholarship QBs. On the off chance it effects anyone its Dormady. Theres no way Jennings is not in this class imo.

I'm pretty sure that JJ and QD are fine with this. Jones has probably told them that they will naturally have a advantage because of the fact that they're EE. But he told them with Peterman most likely transferring "Guys, see what I have here? Peterman is probably gone, and even if he stays, he's not productive. I have Dobbs, and then you two, and if one of you goes down, then I have two QBs, and I can't have that. So, I'm going to bring you two in in January, and ya'll will get some valuable time, and you'll be ahead. But I do plan on bringing in another QB if the right one comes along."

I just don't think he's being backhanded here. Nothing to worry about with QD and JJ.

Then Austin Kendall...then Hunter Johnson...

Truth is Sheriron was atop Butch's list even while TG was tweeting otherwise. Zach Gentry was my ideal at one time, but I've come around on this dual threat thing...I still believe Dormady could flourish in this offense, but JJ has a better chance of replicating what we saw out of Dobbs. And Sheriron could be the complete package...I'll just wait to see what happens.

True.

Although I don't think Jennings is too willing to move, or that he'll need to.

I do like Jones though.

Watch for Ole Miss to get involved soon. Not saying he wont ultimately end up in Knoxville, but this isnt a done deal.

Does this instigate that action?...or was it already in the works?

Na TCU has just been pushing a lot lately for a visit. His official here is next week before the dead period. Should be fine. Just curious if he'd sneak in a visit. Probably won't though
