'15 CA QB Sheriron Jones (UT Signee 2/4/15)

You act as if something immoral is going on. In all likelihood, the addition of this kid would cause the staff to change plans with one of the others. Dormady could be asked to look around. Jennings could be told that he's going to play another position at UT. I cannot see them carrying 3 Fr QB's considering the other needs the roster has.

UT's staff has to get the best players they can. That isn't "win at all costs" nor is it doing anything wrong. That involves some tough decisions and sometimes disappointing a recruit. The recruits know it.... and they know that they can flip anytime before NSD. Verbal commitments are non-binding on BOTH SIDES.

You do realize the two EE's are about to move on campus in a month or less? Once they do, they are as committed as if they signed a formal letter of intent.

It's the timing that exacerbates the issue.

Out of curiosity who has left from CBJ's first 2 classes. Where are they currently and are they contributing? And the rumors of the transfers are just rumors. A unknown website started rumors and VN did the rest of the work after. Evidently Malone's uncle said he was disappointed with nagging injuries and lack of production but never got the feeling of him wanting to transfer. As of right now it is just internet rumors. It would make no sense for those three to transfer from a football viewpoint. I'm not just saying that because I'm a Vol fan

Maybe from YOUR UT football viewpoint. Of course UT fans say stack them 10 deep and they can either wait or screw off. We'll drop them in year 2 anyway to make room for the next class of 30+. Well, when they start bailing, those UT fans don't need to ask why.

It's a business, not a charity. Being a college athlete you can be screwed over but the rewards are great. Sometimes things don't work out as originally planned. Coaches should understand how all their recruits are feeling and should be able to understand risk and reward

Funny how many, not most, would cry and whine if and when a kid flips to another school but it's OK to screw the kids at the last minute.

I hope Jones knows that olat least one of the commits is shopping around and that is why he is doing what he is. Otherwise, my opinion of Jones is going to take major drop.

That's how it has been and always will be on here with most of the fans. Now you talk to parents of an actual recruit and it's very different. One has skin in the game and one does not. Anytime UT drops a kid and or pulls some shady stuff, it's always in the best interest of the kid and the coaches are "looking out for him". Now when a recruit leaves UT at the alter, he was just stupid and did not realize what was in front of him. Plays out the same every time.

We will ask why because all the kids that are rumored to be considering transferring sit near the top of the depth chart heading into their SOPHOMORE years on an SEC football team. Scott is sitting at 3 next year with Kamara coming and in one play could be the number 2 rb. Malone starts if he wants to and even got halve of starts this year as a FRESHMAN. Hendrix got into 7 games and is in the 2 deep as a FRESHMAN. These kids are getting valuable snaps most people their age don't get and are in a position to have success in the near future. They should not be afraid of younger guys. This is the wrong attitude.

The difference between Jones' highlights and Dormady's is the ability of Jones' receivers to get open and create separation and the two offensive lines. Neither of which justifies dropping a kid in the grease at this juncture.

Dormandy won't be dropped imo. Butch should just say guys an opportunity came up and we want this kid we want both of you. All of you can win the job we like competition here at tennessee. Sack up.

Maybe to you it is wrong. The thing is though these players are the ones who deal with the coaches daily and know a lot more about what is going on vs your feelings as a fan and how that players should see things. As I said before the same fans who sit on this board and complain about transfers and such are the same ones who are all about "CBJ will drop as many as he needs to take a full class or more". IMO you can't have it both ways. The coaches can either does things the right way, or expect to have some heartache along the way.

Nobody here knows what goes on in these players personal life's or with dealings with the coach. That is why i said from a football viewpoint. Looking at it based on opportunities to get on the field to play there is no better place for these kids to go. I have no problem with transfers either. I want the best players who want to play. If a kid doesn't want to be in orange their is no reason for them to take up a spot. We should still try to get all the best players we can on campus. Dormady has been committed a long time and I think we should still honor that commitment but that doesn't mean we can't have more. If Dormady/Jennings/Jones feel comfortable at Tennessee and think they can win the job they should come. If one of them doesn't want to be here they shouldn't come. There is nothing wrong with being a back up SEC QB and just because you are a back up doesn't mean you can't be the starter as of tomorrow (who would of thought Cardale Jones would of played in the big ten championship, or even Josh Dobbs playing both his freshman and sophmore years).

Who would have thought it? Possibly the kids asking for transfers for various reasons some of which looks to be possibly the coaching.

You seem to have a really low opinion of this coaching staff. Both professionally and personally.

They have their moments. I myself am alright with the coaching other than the OL. I'd replace Mahoney in a second. As for some of their recruiting tactics, I'm not. If UT were a 10-11 win type team, I would probably give them a little more leeway. As it is, not so much.

It's part of becoming a 10-11 win type of team.

Soooo? Wait UNTIL we win 10-11 before we recruit like we're a 10-11 win team? How are we supposed to get to 10-11 without linear recruiting?

IMO that would be the definition of immoral. Wait till a week before the dead period and just a couple weeks before both guys are set to be EE's and then drop the bomb on them that either they won't be playing QB as promised or they no longer have a spot at all? Seriously? Yeah, let's give Dormady's dad some of the UT offense so they can run it on the HS team then drop him a less than a month before he signs. Sounds like high moral character to me, that's for sure. SMH

This isn't Pee Wee football Leb. It's a million dollar cut throat business. That means as a coach you get the best players available at all positions at any time. I'm not saying it's right or "moral", but it is what it is. You don't think successful businesses do the same thing? If my company is able to bring someone better in to fill my position then I know they'll do it. It's called competition and it makes me better at my job.

How much of the millions of dollars are the recruits getting?

Some of you guys are just pathetic.
