'15 CA QB Sheriron Jones (UT Signee 2/4/15)

Per VQ, Jones arrived on campus yesterday for a visit that will end this evening. UF has a good sized lead for this kid, but UT will try and make a run at him. He'll head down to Gainesville to visit the Gators for the rest of the weekend.

if i was him id hold off on UF until i see that Offense. All these writers seem to think its "fixed". Guess its bc they are such an easy pick based on their name. ive read about 15 articles about how awesome they will be offense but i dont see it at all. Nobody is gonna come in and turn that around in 9 months.

Guz turned Aub around in that time frame. Its about fitting system to players. All Roper has to do is get O in mid 50's in total O and the D will take care of rest.

I thought Muschamp slighted no huddle and spread offenses. I guess the hot seat will change your mind quickly.

“Right now, I mean, Tennessee is a place for me. I could see myself going there and everything. I’ve just got to see what’s up next.”

The 6-foot-2.5, 192-pound Jones —*who’s scheduled to visit Florida on Saturday and Sunday —*said he particularly enjoyed meeting Tennessee coach*Butch Jones*and his staff and spending time with some of the Vols’ players, including sophomore quarterback*Joshua Dobbs.

“The players, they were real down-to-earth. I got to sit down and talk to them a little bit about how they feel and everything, and how they like it there, so I liked that,”Sheriron Jones*said.

“Basically, right now is a good time to be coming to Tennessee because they’ve got all the tools. They just need somebody to hammer the nail in, because they’ve got all the nails. They’ve built everything, so all they need is a quarterback.”

Sheriron Jones said Butch Jones and offensive coordinator*Mike Bajakian*both made it clear to him that he’s a high priority for the Vols.

“(Butch Jones is) just fired up about everything,” Sheriron Jones said. “He just let me know that he really wanted me and everything, and he wants to get the ball rolling.”

He said he also “bumped into” former Super Bowl champion coach*Jon Gruden, who was on campus to prepare for Tennessee’s quarterback camp Saturday. Gruden, who’s now an analyst for ESPN’s Monday Night Football, is expected to serve as a guest speaker and instructor at the camp.

“That was pretty cool,” Jones said. “He knows the game of football and everything, so just to bump into him and just say hello, it was pretty cool.”

Jones said he heard plenty during the visit about Tennessee’s favorable depth chart at quarterback.

“We talked quite a bit about that,” he said. “I don’t think nowhere in the country there’s anything like that, where there’s basically two years (between) quarterbacks. It’s a pretty good situation. (That matters) somewhat, but I’m not really worried about that. I mean, I know either way it goes, I’m going to have to compete to start, anyway. But I was like, OK, I have a good chance to go there and start and stuff like that.”

Jones said he’s “not really sure yet” where Tennessee stands among the teams he’s considering heading into his visit to Florida this weekend, and he doesn’t know when he might be ready to decide on a college.

“I’m just waiting to see how things go,” he said. “I’m trying to take everything as slow as possible to make sure I make the right decision.
