'15 CT TE Chris Clark

I would finally do it if I were him. Texas A&M joining the conference and the emergence of Malzahn are gonna make it that much harder for LSU to win the division and those LSU fans aren't gonna stand for it much longer.

Would be s good time to do it, plus Michigan put together a good class last year. Like 3 top OL,the top CB Jabril Peppers, Derrick Green is up there, I'm not sure how he is progressing, really haven't kept up with him this year. I do know one game he had 150 yards or more 2/3 touchdowns/

Really would be perfect for him to make the move. You have OSU to compete against, and would love Les going there and beating around Urbie every year. Penn state will be ok going forward. Michigan State, but I'm think D'Ant could be making a move to a bigger program or the pros. The Badgers are decent, but it's nothing like the SEC and the SEC West, where Miss St and Ole Miss are playing good and would probably when the big ten this year. Actually, I'm thinking he will make the move. Would be cool if he does and we could get Chavls on the staff somewhere, but our staff is killing it at recruiting.

Would like to see Miles go to Michigan.

Miles is a great recruiter, but an average coach. If was offered the Michigan job and accepted it, LSU would do very well for the next 2-3 years because of the stockpile of talent. However, more talent in the SEC would be available for the rest of the SEC with him at Michigan.

Nope. Why would he want to go to a 2nd rate conference? Butch knows the SEC is the place to be.

And especially after how well he has recruited and rebuilt this roster and team. He is finally going to enjoy the fruits of his labor. I don't know why he would want to go start all over when he has stacked this team so well. I don't think he could recruit any better at Michigan than he can/has here so why make a lateral move when he finally has his guys and they're not going to all be freshman and sophomores next year. Also did Butch not say this was his dream job or something to that affect when he was hired? It may have just been coach speak but I seem to remember his saying something like that. Maybe I'm biased but I don't see CBJ leaving the Vols on his own accord.

Clark will stick with Michigan even when Hoke is fired. Michigan will drop a ton of $$ on the next coach. Lots of talk of them going after Harbaugh and if he turns them down Miles would be #2.

Why = $$$.
I don't think he'd go either but if he was to go somewhere, it'd be about the dollars. This would hardly make him unique

I wonder if we pursue him again

0-2 with him thus far, more pressing needs with limited numbers imo. Guess we'll see but I'd be really surprised.

If Michigan came after Butch with a big time offer there is no way UT wouldnt match them IMO. Even if they were willing to make him one of the 5 highest paid coaches I think UT would match them, hell Butch is already one if the top 10 highest paid coaches (as of 2013 he was I believe). It's taken too long after we got rid of Fulmer to find the right coach to just let him go. We're not Vanderbilt trying to hold on to Franklin. We have just as much to offer a coach as Michigan does in terms of tradition and facilities, but we also have better fan support, play in a better conference, we're in a better area in terms of recruiting, and we can afford to pay our coach as much as any team in the nation. I don't think CBJ will leave UT but if he were to it wouldn't be because Michigan was willing to pay him more than we were. JMO

This. Hart had better open up the checkbook if programs, like Michigan, come calling for Butch. We have gone through years of heartache and terrible coaches to finally find what seems to be the right one. We need to hold onto him for a long time. And yes, I am pretty sure that Butch called the Tennessee job his dream job. I think he may have even told his players at Cincinnati when they came to Knoxville, that Tennessee would be the one job that he would consider leaving them for. I may be stretching that some, but I seem to recall that from somewhere.

I wouldn't offer Butch any more than what he's making now, regardless of what Michigan or whoever else offers him, until he hits win 6.

Dream scenario but...

Maybe Mich will throw the bank at Saban. I know he's not a Mich guy but did coach at Mich St. With how much tougher it's becoming for him to stay on top of the SEC every year, does he really wanna finish his career in the SEC and risk his legacy? He's gonna bolt sooner or later, imo. He'd have it easy at Mich. Plus he'd likely force Urban into a permanent retirement this time lol.

After Saban goes, bama promotes kiffy to HC, and then we just sit back and watch him do what he does best while Butch takes over the SEC :)

Glad you're not making the decisions bc if you can't see the obvious trajectory of this team you're blind. You've got to have players b4 you can win against the good teams. It won't matter after this year anyway, I think we hit 6 wins and make a bowl game and I think 7 wins is definitely achievable. In 2 years when Butch's guys are juniors and seniors we will be the favorites to win the east IMO.

I think Miles is just a wish. Why leave LSU for a dumpster fire program? He has a stud young QB, WR and. RB. LSU is going to be a force in the west as these young players progress.

I don't see Miles ever leaving Michigan. However Michigan is his alma mater so I'm sure he still has a soft spot for them. He also wouldn't have to fight bama every year not to win the conference championship but just to win the west, then he has to deal with the likes of Tennessee in the championship every year starting in 2016 and continuing every year after that for the next 20 years :) like I said I don't see Les every leaving LSU but I could see the appeal of doing so for him.

Would be sweet, but turn down Texas job with a state full of D1players and a huge contract and unlimited money but decide on Michigan. No way, I know you said dream scenario, but Texas was the best chance we had at getting rid of that troll.

You must be confusing UT with someone else. When has UT not taken the cheap route?

Farrell said on radio that Clark is one of a handful of players that are looking "closer at the vols"

Roseboro and Burell were two others. cant remember the third

I agree. I don't think he'll turn his back on all the hard work he's done here just to go begin another rebuilding job somewhere else.

Butch knows what UT was in the past, and can be again... a top 10 job and an opportunity to be in championship contention every year.

From his first team meeting to now, his message has been, "I came here to win championships. You look at the stadium, the facilities... it's the best of the best. We are going to talk, walk, act the best of the best."

If you look at the difference he has made since he has been here, I buy in completely. This young team is on the verge of big things. The administration loves him, the fans love him, the students... but especially the players.

So, why would he leave all this to rebuild another place?

Edit: The quotes from his first meeting is actually me paraphrasing... sorry for any confusion. You can look up "Butch Jones: The Era Begins" on youtube for his exact words.

I doubt anything comes of UT and Clark. He's talked up UT before and never showed up when he was supposed to, plus he's on what his 2nd or 3rd commitment already?

I'd say the realistic Michigan targets would be Cole and Kirkland Jr and maybe Taylor.
