LV, I don't think you're looking at the whole picture when you are thinking about the numbers. You seem to think that we have to have all of these players transfer before football season starts this fall. That is not the case. We only have to be down to 85 by summer of 2015, when the majority of the 2015 class will enroll. That gives us after the 2014 season and after 2015 spring practice for players to transfer that see the writing on the wall. That is still a lot of time left for guys to decide to move on. Not unrealistic at all. We will sign 23 to 25 in the 2015 class IMO.
I totally understand that. IMO it's not a very good idea to over sign players and then set yourself up to be a position to force kids out, even if they are doing the right things. Would it be wise for CBJ to just assume taking 25 is fine when at some point 10 kids have to leave or be forced out? I get the fans would do it as a recruit/signed Vol to them means nothing if a kid can be brought in with some *'s by his name and a lot of unknown. "Just make room" is probably not the answer for a lot of schools around the country. Especially ones coming off 3 losing seasons.
When I look at how recruiting is playing out this year, I think the staff is VERY MUCH keeping an eye on the numbers and as of now, that is nowhere near 25. Of course, I could be wrong. We'll see.
