So, instead of who is next, who do you Big Orange folks believe is left for this class? I am not really interested in numbers. I have my ideal remaining targets that I would love to land, but I thought I would ask and see what other people think. This is not meant to be about numbers, but...
I think we definitely take another quarterback, whether that is Gibson, Waller, Francois, or someone else. Possibly two depending on how CBJ and CMB feel about Jennings and who ever the second QB is.
I think we take one running back, maybe one more wide receiver, and probably miss on a TE...
OLine worries me a bit. I really want Richmond and Clark. I have a feeling we might miss on one or both of them. We will still take two OTs but they might take two merely to address depth issues and focus on the duo of OTs from Brentwood from next year's class.
I think we take 3 DTs. Some combination of McKenzie, Settle, Tuttle, Quentez Johnson, and DJ Jones. If we miss on all of them for whatever reason, I don't personally know what I will think. I feel like we're in very good position with most of them so I will be disappointed.
At the End position, I REALLY want Josh Sweat. Doubt it'll happen, but if CBJ can get him here from a visit, I will be slightly more hopefully. I think we also get Kyle Phillips and maybe De'Andre Walker.
Linebacker will probably be a smaller class than last year. DeBerry hopefully. Not sure who else we are really pursuing at this position anyway.
In the secondary, I think we are going to probably miss on corners. I would love for this rumor about Gibson and McFadden to be true, but I SERIOUSLY doubt that is going to happen. Ordway seems like an Ole Miss lock and Abernathy feels like a long shot too. Outside of those two, I think Shelley would still commit if his offer was legit, but I don't think we really want him. I like Griffin's tape a lot at safety. Would love to flip McGraw from UGA, but that seems doubtful.
To summarize, I think we land:
-A QB, won't speculate as to who.
-A RB, again, I won't speculate.
-Van Jefferson at WR.
-No TE.
-Not sure about OT. I feel like this is our biggest need and our shakiest position for recruiting.
-DT is probably going to be McKenzie and Q. Johnson, maybe Settle.
-Phillips for sure at DE, probably Walker.
-DeBerry if TG commits, if he doesn't, your guess is as good as mine.
-Secondary also seems a bust too.
