Is discussion allowed in this thread? If so, I've been away from recruiting since early Feb. Wanted to get filled in on:

-Overall, how are people feeling about our recruiting this class? I know the last class had a lot of excitement around it, myself included.
-Who are the best prospects in the class (or who do most of the services agree are touted guys)?
-Any many people aren't that high on? Which, why?
-Any that aren't currently highly rated, but expected to turn some heads and add a star as the season goes on?
-Who are the big fish we're in good position with?
-How about the Drew Richmond kid? Sit well with him? Personally, I'm not liking that Vandy has 2 of the top 10 TN recruits, especially with us only having 2 of them wrapped up at this point.

Any other nuggets welcome! Thanks!

Wow you must not have heard.... Mark Richt turned UT into the NCAA for illegal recruiting. It was a secondary violation for logging too many hours on the phones each week to recruits. Richt said Butch and staff started using pay phones, so that there wouldn't be a trace. NCAA looked into it and reduced our scholarship numbers by 2 for this class and next class.

Then about a week ago, this big academic scandal came out about UT. The parents of the recruits really aren't happy. It's been a big mess. VQ, 247, and Scout have said to expect a mass exodus of our commits. Even a couple signees from the last class are looking to transfer. It's been pretty bad around here. Oh and Marquez North is looking to transfer to FSU. Bad times right now.

We are picking up Khalil McKenzie today. Probably the #1 DT in the nation. Will be a consensus 5 star after the show he's put on this weekend.

Drew Richmond looks like a real battle. UT, Bama, Ole Miss, and tOSU are in it for him. He's visiting in July for our 2nd Orange carpet event.

Kyle Phillips is an instate who is really high on the Vols.

Others to keep an eye on: Torrance Gibson, Cam Ordway, Rico McGraw, Bryce Love, Van Jefferson, DJ Jones, Shy Tuttle, Emmanuel Olenga, Quarte Sapp, Justin Martin, and another OL.

Commits that could get a bump: Quentin Dormady, Chance Hall, Austin Smith, Quay Picou, and maybe Stephen Griffin.

Lastly, Alvin Kamara is a beast.

-Overall the recruiting class has an excellent aura surrounding it. More than likely we have another top 10 class this year.
-Preston Williams is our biggest get at the moment. Then you have Alvin Kamara who is the #2 juco rb. We beat out Alabama for our QB committ which is never a small thing. And later tonight we will have Kahlil McKenzie. These in my opinion are our big names. But this class is loaded with talent from top to bottom.
-I'd say most people weren't too excited about our run of three stars we picked up but honestly they are all really talented and some are rated 4-stars depending on the services.
- lots of kids that are on the cusp of getting bumps. Many think our qb committ is guaranteed to go up and I agree. Picou, smith and Griffin all look like they need a bump in the ratings.
-Big fish are Josh Sweat, Van Jefferson, Drew Richmond, Kahlil McKenzie, Torrance Gibson, Shy Tuttle, DJ Jones, Bryce Love, Quarter Sapp and Cameron Ordway
-We lead for Richmond from what I've gathered. Its between us and Alabama.
- Don't worry about candy they are only getting the recruits that we don't want.

I am pissed that Franklin is seemingly recruiting lights out at Penn State. I guess cause I have relative up there, and my uncle went there, so have an affinity for PSU. Hate seeing that ******* as the coach there, and seemingly doing well at least on paper there. Just a random thought I had to blurt.
