'15 Current Commits/Targets

Just an informal poll question. We have 2 of TN's top 10 recruits. All the rest belong to someone else with one undeclared. Last year, we owned TN. CBJ made a statement that we need to put a fence around the state and keep talent in-state?

-Is anyone concerned &/or frustrated by our lack of ability to keep our top ten 5/4*'s to us?
-Were we not enamored with them, and didn't pursue as much as other schools? They seemed to go everywhere but UT.

Thoughts?

You cannot get the best recruits in your state every year. Just how recruiting works. The talent level in the state is not as strong as last year. With more limited spots, CBJ had to be more picky. For as good as the talent is getting in TN, it is still WAY behind Georgia and Florida. I am not concerned at all.

We may get Phillips. Richmond could still be flipped before NSD. No worries.

Looking at the positions of the players that's going to other schools such as Bammer, UGA and Ole Mi$$ we are getting some really good players instead of them. The 2 that I wanted was Richmond (who might switch) and Jefferson (he said we had too many WR's already) and if we get Phillips it may not be a bad year after all. I think Butch will overcome the Memphis recruiting "wall" and hopefully players like Sawyers will help get help in schools like Ensworth that produces a lot of good players. To me (FWIW), areas such as middle TN, VA, NC, SC, GA and FL along with a few from the Midwest will carry us through.

GW, I know you already know this and have probably been too busy to post new info, but I thought I'd run this by you anyway:

Van Jefferson - UGA
Cameron Ordway - Ole Miss
Drew Richmond - Ole Miss
Alex Givens - Ole Miss
Will Gragg - Arkansas
Rasool Clemens – Virginia
Darian Roseboro – Michigan
Jahvoni Simmons – Virginia
Duke Shelley – Kansas State

Maybe you can wait till this Friday to update these when you put Mr. Tuttle in the UT column!

Again, appreciate your work.

McKenzie and Williams are no longer EE's

:hi:

Thanks. I work in Budget for the Army and this is our end of year. Very busy and really only get to keep up on my breaks which I use to read the threads and post a little. Always appreciate the help.

Thanks for your work in this thread. It's solid.

Ryan Newsome is listed as a non-serious offer. I assumed (per his twitter activity) that we were still in it for him. Is this not the case?

According to the "Upcoming Visits" post, Matthew Burrell is taking an official visit here next weekend. Does that qualify him as a "serious target?" He's a take. That's for sure.

I think you can move

Gibson
Clarington
Settle
South

to the non-serious list

D'Andre Walker is

Vaughn and sweet should both be considered serious offensive targets. Also van Jefferson still.

Defensively the michigan trio of Taylor, cole, and roseboro may soon be in that category as well.

How long before we start seeing some decommits and guys who are recruited over?

Just want to say that right now, if all of those were to sign, I'm very happy especially with the EEs. Those EEs are crucial and the players that are EEs are bad azzz.

That's not greedy. It's time to reclaim Memphis. Oher went to Ole Miss, so we should go hard after Richmond to make sure he doesn't spite his state in the same way. (Disclaimer: yes, I know Oher's foster parents went to Ole Miss, and that factored in, but just saying...)
