Woody Wommack interview on Rivals with Butcher. He's at the Elite Junior Classic Rising Junior All-Star Game this week, which will be aired on CSS this Saturday. Andrew said the reason he committed to UT is due to all the relationships with the staff, the fan base is so great, the players, etc. Woody asked if he grew up rooting for UT and he said he was a fan of UT and Clemson where his father played. Woody asked if Clemson was still recruiting him and Andrew said, "It doesn't matter. I'm all Tennessee." Great answer!
He seemed all business in the interview, very focused and ready to prove himself. Said he's added more weight since the season ended, up to 245lbs. Woody asked who he's trying to get to commit to UT in the '15 class and he said Eric Swinney.
Wow, he's a Clemson legacy?
Yep. The full story is in this thread somewhere but IIRC many of his family members went to UT and his dad wanted to but didn't get a scholarship offer so he went to Clemson instead. But there's some quotes in here where his father and other family are very very excited that he's going to UT, lots of Vol fans in the Butcher family.
5. DE ANDREW BUTCHER, ALPHARETTA (GA.)
The Rivals250 defensive end and Tennessee commit had the tough assignment of matching up against Hyatt several times on Monday, but he definitely held his own against the five-star. What makes Butcher special is his relentless motor, something you can't really teach, combined with excellent quickness. Butcher went so hard in Monday's shells-only practice that he ended up with a battle wound on his face, but didn't bat an eye.
