Not early. Over half way through. Point was being awesome on the outside doesn't mean you stay outside.

He actually wasn't that great outside as a freshman. Only had like 3 tfl and didn't get a sack until they moved him inside.

Nkemdiche was a beast on the outside as a freshman and then they moved him inside. It happens, regardless of performance. Kid is 18, his body may not be done growing, so he might eventually be a better fit on the outside. Hopefully not though, with our 3 DT studs coming in, we need proven DE to stay there.

Difference is that as a high school prospect, DT is where Nkemdiche was projected...he was physically gifted enough to play and excel at DE but his dimensions scream prototype DT. We needed/need DTs in the worst way, so it seemed Barnett was a slam dunk to land there...he Dikembe Mutumboed that! He's the perfect size for DE and that's where he,Hendrix and Butcher belong. We'll just bring in?...I don't know... McKenzie, Tuttle and Picou for the trenches?
