It's a weak offer list...we beat out Rutgers, Duke, Miami and Virginia Tech. Whooptee damn dee.... He does look the part though. Trust in Butch, I guess.

I agree. Probably sticks at WDE. Only reason I question where Phillips stands now is possibly the staff really likes where they are SDE wise after looking at the kids from the previous class. Maybe WDE is more of a need? Phillips being instate, of course I would be all for him choosing UT.

this kid is as close as it gets on rivals and espn from being a 4-star. one Weakside DE ranking away right behind rasool clemons. i like this kid alot. Now give me phillips at SDE and we are loaded with DEs and Leos. Butcher, Ford, Phillips, Henderson, Weatherd (Hopefully) along with Vereen, Barnett, Hendrix, Miller and Vickers

Wish our defense was as good as VTs. Dont go full retard.

He has Ole Miss, Miss St offers along Clemson, Miami, Nebraska, UNC, Wisconsin among others. Several of those teams would have beat our ass last yr.

We have obviously given up on Sweat...it was a pipe dream anyway. Oh well.

Good pickup. Assume the staff got bad news about Sweat or don't feel too good about him at this point to take this commitment.

I'm guessing it was this guy or Rasool Clemens and this kid pulled the trigger first. Better claim your spot at Tennessee or someone else will.

Oh, I definitely think they will continue to recruit Sweat. I just see this as the coaches going to who was next on their board based on how they feel on where Sweat and even DeBerry are leaning.

Just tossing it out there. Looking at his film and seeing his shuttle time of 4.37, would it be a reach to see him at 6'4 230-240 playing OLB? Kid looks very quick on film. Maybe with the staff looking at LB possibilities, maybe this kid fit the bill?
