Hate this. Kid showed out at UA practices/game. Evidenced by his new ranking. Reminded me so much of Maggitt.

I absolutely despise this "aspect" of recruiting. I love the Vols and I enjoy following the year round news on the football team. Feel for him.

But this kid did everything he was suppose to do. He did extremely well in the classroom, had a great senior year, balled out at camps, and remained loyal to UT since his commitment over the summer. Just hate it for the kid.

I hate it just as much as anyone, but if you think about it, the coaches are the ones that evaluate the talent that they need at UT. In my opinion, Butch and Co. know that the expectations for this team are only going to be higher and higher as their time here builds so they are going to try to get the best players possible despite hurting some feelings here and there.

Mixon is a DT no? And Jakob is a LB until told otherwise, Maggit Verern and Lewis have limited eligibility. That's 5 guys frosh or soph. I just think edge rushers are as much a premium as anything else on our board sans LT.

Thought Mixon played DE in the bowl game and seemed to find a home there?

Doubtful that Jakob's future is at LB, many have said this. Plenty of guys on the roster that can play one of the 2 linebacker spots.

And as far as limited eligibility for the upperclassmen, I'm sure we'll recruit more DE's in the '16 cycle?

I don't believe any of those were this close to signing day, were they? Orlando Brown didn't have his offer pulled if I recall correctly...

Yea this one stings. Hate it for the guy because it seems he really wanted to be here and probably had the talent to be here. Just a numbers thing I guess.

Yes he did and it was due to grades

Oh **** yeah, I feel horrible that he's gonna have to go to some other top notch D1 school on a full ride scholarship, possibly closer to home...poor kid! Give me a break most high school seniors have no idea where they are going til March or April and those decisions are still up in the air upon admission and if a family can afford it....I get it that this is not ideal but it's hell and gone from being traumatic....smgdh

I'm not saying I'm upset, you have to trust Butch knows what's best but I can see how others feel differently about Ford. He never waivered his commitment, was always promoting the Vols, had integrated with a lot of the current recruits, and it's two weeks from signing day.
