At least two of those aren't 2015 initial counters, from what I've read. Not sure about Perry, but Ford's spot isn't going to those guys, I don't think.

Players flip on signing day and teams tell players to look elsewhere. It is what it is. Ford is highly ranked and will find a place. He will be a good D1 player. Everybody would be mad at him if he flipped today. Again, this is football recruiting.

I've seen it alluded to quite a bit in this thread, the fear that "I hope this doesn't hurt us in the future".

If Butchna's said it once, he's said it at least 3 or 4 times :) "you can't recruit scared".

I for one, agree.

I don't know that you can say we are "overstocked" at DE. They had the 4 DE commits because we're trying to build depth. Especially if Hendrix doesn't come back. Perry and Bruce are the Athlete sort of guys who could fit in at multiple positions.

I'd rather have an extra bonfide SEC DE than a question mark at others, that may be thinner than the DL is.

Besides the stars, continued commitment by the kid and high ceiling, I think what stings folks the most is the timing - not just a few weeks before NSD, but also right after his OV. I did find it odd, however, that I didn't see him in some of the pics with the other DL recruits from this past weekend.

Listen guys n gals, this happens all the time like mentioned before, the only difference is that we have been down for so long we just aren't used to recruiting at this high of a level. It's awful I hate it for Ford but, this crap was a everyday occurance in the Fulmer prime time. The only difference is that now with social media we all hear about it. And with this fine fine web site that freak has assembled for us to all meet at we now know every lil move and jump to conclusions. All I can say is ya better get used to it cause this is BIG time FBS college football! This is where champions come from and this is how thy build there teams. Ya gotta take the best if your gonna beat and be the best!! Good luck Mr Ford where ever ya end up keep grindin. And thank you for bein a loyal faithful commit to this unniversity!

I feel bad for him as well and that quote does make me a little nauseous. The good news is I assure you they're calling him now. He'll get snatched up quick by a good program. He'll have options he just won't have as much time to evaluate them as he would have liked.

Everybody is all upset that the staff cut Ford loose, but most on here would want to cut the staff loose if they do not win at least 8 next year and 10 plus in 2016. CBJ and Co. have to do what they have to do. This is not about Ford's talent, this is about team needs.
Also for everyone who says this makes them ashamed of their university, what makes me ashamed is losing to Bama, Ga, and FL. I want to start winning.

We're still taking rbs and athletes , but we're dropping defensive players we NEED to make room for other positions? I won't pretend to know enough to have a legit argument, but this just reeks of stupidity that is going to come back and bite us hard.

Isn't he the guy who ran a restaurant/bar in Rocky hill? I know he talks to some current players but come on man. He isn't "take it to the bank" insider.

I think Lovingood went to Beech so maybe there was a package deal with him. Otherwise it is impossible to see why you take a 2 star over Ford. Even if we are heavy at DE that does not make sense.

I enjoy your posts. Not coming at you at all. Just saying you aren't on staff and nobody on staff has said anything about Blueshirting anybody.

POA should know better. Everybody (except a few) thought we'd blueshirt 3-4 players last year and NONE WERE.

I'll own that and I trust that Butch had to do it this way for whatever reason...really feel crappy tho. :pinch:
