Can't believe this... Why not cut someone like Bruce or the long snapper?

But, I'm also (obviously) not being paid millions to coach and evaluate talent, so I'm trusting Butch on this.

We have got to be the most ignorant fanbase in cfb...I have lived and traveled all over the south, and I have never seen a fan of another school piss and moan about their coaches dropping a player this much.

No ones fault here. The bad part though, is that his world has been turned upside down overnight.

Looks like CBJ was honest with the kid and that is all you can ask.

Because they don't count against the 25 limit and Ford did. Bruce and Lovinggood are guys that are willing to blueshirt by not taking official or have in home. They just want to be Vols regardless of how they get there

The kid bought into what the UT coaches were selling. He chose to be a part of it and committed. He did everything right and got screwed. Now he has to start all over. Just have to hope it does not come back to bite the staff at Tennessee. IMO kids should pay attention to things like this. What these coaches are saying is a lot of BS when it comes to recruiting.

What these kids say is alot of BS when it comes to recruiting. What happens when a guy you have spent all year recruiting flips on NSD? I guess all you say is "that's recruiting." Well, this is the same deal. It sucks, but this is big boy recruiting.

If the recruit is "looking" I agree. Ford was in no way doing that. He was committed and dropped. There are scenarios where IMO cutting a kid loose makes sense. This was not one of them.

Not saying it is right just because everyone does it, but I am not sure it will hurt UT because everyone does it.

For every recruit cut loose at this time of the year by UT, schools such as AU, UA, UGA have/will have cut loose as many, if not more.

I think this is a hint that either Hendrix or Sawyers is staying put because if Sawyers stays then Mixon can stay @ DE and if Hendrix is staying then that killed Ford's spot but either way it killed Ford's spot................JMO though

You don't think this cuts both ways.

I hate it for him but it's the nature of recruiting. He and his HS coach have said the Tennessee's coaches have been upfront all along and they're making calls for him.

He's getting a lot of interest. He'll be alright.

Of course it cuts both ways. As I said, when kids are "looking around", there is a risk of losing them. Ford was not looking around. That is my only issue with the timing of the shady move.

I guess the recruits call the coaches and tell them that "they are looking around."

Just naive kind of thinking.

If Bussey flips to A&M and somehow we ended up having an open spot do you think the coaches would try to get him back? Could you imagine that conversation!?!
