Didn't want to start a new thread on this fabulous thought, but since it's established that Gibson is one if best QB prospects in the history of ever...if it's true that a transfer is taking HIS job, shouldn't we get an offer out for that kid MUY PRONTO?

So if everyone was buying the Doug Mathews news of "6" silent commitments and it being a "full class" this year, is everyone buying that Gibson will not be a part of the 2015 class?
Maybe the Dormady's met with CBJ this weekend and figured out who would be taken at QB and or play at QB. Maybe the chance at getting Gibson was not worth losing Dormady?

Still can be a part of this class. Ath or WR maybe. Either way is a good thing for the University of Tennessee. Go Vols!
I was actually alright with him being a take at WR if they could fit him in. Someone posted news that Doug Mathews said UT would not be taking anymore QBs for 2015 or QBs who may play another position.

It doesn't matter to me where he plays. I want him on this football team. Hard to find individuals his size with his speed and playmaking ability. I think if he does spend his birthday in Knoxville, he leaves committed to UT.
I think he is a great athlete, but which of our committed or WRsPreston Williams, Joc Broce would you dump? There is a lot of value in committed players who invest in your program and help recruit other players over guys who drag you to the finish line and may not even come to your school.
Do you take Gibson over WR Van Jefferson, who is thought to be a hard lean to Tennessee? Not me.
Evidently Doug Mathews does not believe Butch will either.
Reading the articles from the TOSs about yesterday's commitments made it seem like Smith and Picou made the decision to commit yesterday and hadn't been silents. I think Matthews was just wrong on the number of silents and was backtracking today
I don't expect it to be an issue on either side. But Im certainly not willing to lose Dormady in order to get Gibson. I don't think CBJ would be either.
If Dormady were to bolt just because we land Gibson then that shows a fear of competition and we don't need him if thats the case. I fully expect if Gibson does come to UT for there to be a 3 way competition at QB. Neither TG, JJ or QD should be afraid.

I doubt it would have anything to do with being "afraid". It would have to do with not wanting to be part of a logjam at QB if a coach tries and take 3 in 1 year. WarMachine took the time to look back at previous UT classes. 1 time in about a dozen years UT took 3 and that 1 time Nash Nance was the 3rd guy(to get Da'Rick). I would not blame a kid a second for not wanting to walk into that sort of deal IF he decided not to.
The crazy thing is IMO Dormady holds all the cards now. When your the most talented QB coming in, I doubt the coach is going to do something to lose you. We'll see.
